Manchester City manager Josep Guardiola jokingly showed his support for West Ham after they defeated Brentford on Saturday night.

Manager Josep Guardiola revealed in a funny gesture at the end of his press conference that Manchester City will be backing West Ham against Arsenal on Sunday. The manager had just finished discussing the 3-0 win over Brentford when he folded his arms over his head and declared: “Good luck Irons!”

City require Arsenal to pick up a point from one of their remaining three games to have a chance at the Premier League title, with West Ham’s side looking most likely to give the Blues an advantage when they face the Blues on Sunday.

Guardiola brushed off questions about whether he would be rooting for West Ham on Friday, but with the game against Brentford set in stone, he allowed himself to crack a joke at the end of his 15 minutes with journalists.

City will be looking to catch up with West Ham with some optimism after an emphatic victory over Brentford in a difficult game on Saturday.

It took nearly 60 minutes to break the stalemate, but the Blues eventually won 3-0, drawing Arsenal within two points and moving within one. If City pick up two more points in their remaining three games, the winner will be decided on goal difference.

Sky has reduced the price of its Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle ahead of the 2025/26 season, saving members £192 on their bill and offering more than 1,400 live matches from the Premier League, EFL and more.

Sky will broadcast at least 215 live Premier League matches next season, with an increase of up to 100 more.

Despite this, Arsenal remain in control and Guardiola was realistic about their chances of overtaking the team that has proven for nine months to be the best team in Europe.

He said: “We are a very similar team to Liverpool in the past, going unbeaten in the Champions League final and being at the top of the league for most of the season.

“It’s not in our hands now so it depends on them dropping points, but all we can do is win again on Wednesday and play the FA Cup final and go to Bournemouth – which I don’t think is the best game to go to – and Aston Villa.

“The calendar is tough, but it’s simple: the season ends in two weeks.

“I’m happy to be here again. I love it because we could at least finish second. Last season I didn’t enjoy it and the moment when we were fighting for Champions League qualification was difficult, but the Carabao Cup is in our pocket. The FA Cup final at Wembley is the most beautiful day of the season and I love it.”

“If you arrive and feel like you can do the job, then you’ve done well.

“When we arrive at the game against Arsenal with a lot of changes, it’s a pleasure to see how they help each other every training session.”
