Jadon Sancho made a cameo in Aston Villa’s game against Nottingham Forest on Thursday, helping Unai Emery’s side reach the Europa League final.
Jadon Sancho has hit back at Manchester United fans who mocked his contribution to Aston Villa’s Europa League final appearance. Sancho, 26, took to social media to celebrate Villa’s 4-1 win over Nottingham Forest as they built on home advantage in Thursday’s semi-final second leg.
The winger has reached the European finals in each of the last three seasons while on loan from United. Sancho played in the Champions League final with Borussia Dortmund in 2024 and helped Chelsea win last year’s Conference League final.
But when the feat was posted on social media platform X, it was swiped by United fans. “Let’s take a quick look at @Sanchooo10’s thoughts on helping us reach the finals,” they posted.
Sancho, who has played in 12 of Villa’s 14 Europa League games and scored one goal, responded at 11:09 p.m. “That’s right, take a good look!”

Another user defended Sancho, claiming his performance against Paris Saint-Germain left-back Nuno Mendes in the 2024 Champions League semi-final had been forgotten. The United loanee responded with a shrug emoji.
One United supporter was furious at his contribution this season, saying: “He played no part in the European final (he played four minutes tonight) and then all of a sudden he’s acting like he’s (Kylian) Mbappé. It shows his weak and poor mentality, it’s disgusting.”

Sancho simply replied, “Good night, brother!” The 23-time England international was described by a user named Cristiano as having “peaked at 21” and being “a worthless footballer”.
“I was wondering, is your name really Cristiano?” Sancho joked. When someone pointed out that the “real” Cristiano (Ronaldo) didn’t have an H in his name, Sancho replied: “I thought so too,” with a palm emoji.
The former Chelsea star then decided to end X Night, with his last post due to be at 12:28am. “All kidding aside, today’s ‘Love and Hate’ is for @AVFCOfficial Good Night Villains,” Sancho wrote. “See you in Istanbul!”
Despite reaching the aforementioned final, Dortmund and Chelsea chose not to sign Sancho permanently. The winger’s contract with United expires this summer and he will be available on a free transfer.
However, Villa manager Unai Emery has not ruled out the possibility of him staying permanently, saying in February: “He will need another contract and maybe that will happen here.”
“If he plays his best football, we would want him. But other teams could also be involved in their interest in him.”
