Jadon Sancho has targeted Manchester United fans after helping Aston Villa reach the Europa League final. Unai Emery’s side defeated Nottingham Forest 4-0 and 4-1 on aggregate that night to book their place in the Europa League finals later this month. Villa fell behind 0-1 in the first leg, but fought back to overturn the deficit and advance to their first European final in 44 years.
Ollie Watkins and Emiliano Buendia leveled the score either side of half-time, with another late goal from John McGinn clinching victory. Post-match footage showed Villa players celebrating in the dressing room, with Sancho taking part in the celebrations. The former Borussia Dortmund and Chelsea winger expressed his elation by throwing some shade on social media platform X (formerly Twitter).
Sancho, 26, was the first to repost the update on TNT Sport, highlighting that he has reached the European finals in each of the past three seasons.
The England international reached the Champions League final with Borussia Dortmund in 2024, the Conference League final with Chelsea in 2025 and the Europa League final with Villa in 2026.
One user took advantage of this by swiping Sancho and posting it alongside a GIF of a man scrutinizing a small piece of paper.
Sancho quickly noticed the jibe and hit back: “Yeah, look at me! (laughing face emoji).”
He then shared a photo of Villa players celebrating together in their home dressing room, with the caption: “Istanbul! @AVFCOfficial.”
He also reposted Villa’s tweet announcing that the club would travel to Istanbul for the final, and then replied to a fan who appeared to jump to the forward’s defense.
Another user wrote: “I forget what he did to Nuno Mendes in the semi-final. Honestly, he ran through the whole Champions League. Dreamland.”

Sancho realized his fans were standing up for him and responded simply with a shrug emoji followed by an exclamation point.
While words of encouragement such as those mentioned above poured in, many negative comments about Sancho also surfaced.
One fan wrote: “He played no part in the European final (he played 4 minutes tonight) and now he’s acting like he’s suddenly Mbappe (laughing face emoji). It shows his weak and poor mentality, damn it.” To which Sancho replied: “Good night! (prayer emoji, salute emoji).”
Sancho, who continued to attack supporters, was unable to contain his final exchange just after midnight on Friday.
After an account named “Cristiano” wrote: “Last year there was very little dribbling against PSG and little stat padding against factory workers. The peak was at 21. No footballer has ever failed to achieve that at Manchester United after all the drama. My client,” Sancho hit back in his characteristic fashion, saying: “Is your name really Cristiano? (laughing face emoji).”
When another supporter pointed out that “the real Cristiano doesn’t have an ‘ah'” in it, Sancho replied: “That’s what I thought too (face palm emoji and laughing face emoji).”
Capping off a memorable night’s work on social media, Sancho concluded with another post: “All jokes aside, today’s Love & Hate is @AVFCOfficial Good Night Villains! (round purple circle emoji). See you in Istanbul!”
Villa are scheduled to face Freiburg in the Europa League final on Wednesday 20th May at Tupras Stadium in Besiktas.
