Liverpool were without a number of big names as Arne Slott’s side trained at Kirkby on Wednesday afternoon ahead of Saturday’s Premier League home game against Chelsea.
Liverpool stars Alexander Isak, Mo Salah, Alisson Becker, Giorgi Mamadashvili and Ibrahima Konate all missed Wednesday’s training session. Arne Slott is currently preparing for Saturday’s home game against Chelsea, but is facing an injury crisis.
Isak missed last Sunday’s 3-2 loss to Manchester United due to a slight pain in his groin. The striker has only recently returned to action after nearly four months out with a broken foot, so it was understandable that Liverpool were reluctant to take a chance on his £125m signing fee.
Those concerns remained evident on Wednesday as the team trained ahead of a match against Chelsea, who have lost six straight in the Premier League. Slott will address the media on Friday to give a detailed update on Isak’s availability for the match against London, but the 26-year-old missed the midweek session along with other key first-team players.
Salah sustained a hamstring injury against Crystal Palace last month and was expected to be fit by the end of the season, which will end his nine-year career at Liverpool, but the Egyptian also missed training.

Salah is thought to be targeting a return trip to Aston Villa next week, but should be available for the game against Brentford at Anfield on Sunday, May 24th.
Alisson has been sidelined due to a hamstring problem and has missed 10 league games this season. Slott said the goalkeeper was due to resume training last week, but missed the match against United and did not take part in Wednesday’s outdoor training session at the AXA Center.

Alisson, who is a target of Italian giants Juventus ahead of the summer transfer window, needs to play in all three of Liverpool’s final games if he is to equal Liverpool’s record of 28 Premier League appearances in a single season. This match has been recorded in both of the past two seasons.
Mamadashvili also remains sidelined after sustaining a knee injury in the Reds’ 2-1 win against Everton. Initial reports said Alisson’s replacement was to be put on hold for three weeks.
At this time, it is unclear why Konate went missing. The Frenchman was replaced by Federico Chiesa in the dying moments of the defeat at Old Trafford.
Liverpool’s long-term absentees include Hugo Ekitike, Conor Bradley, Wataru Endo, Giovanni Leoni, Stefan Bicetic and Jaden Duns.
