Arsenal now face the huge task of getting back into the spotlight in the Premier League title race. The Gunners travel to West Ham United on Sunday, just days after clinching their place in the Champions League final. Rice made it clear that Arsenal must not allow Man City to fall back in the Premier League standings. The midfielder is preparing to face relegation-threatened West Ham, where he excelled after being released by Chelsea.
He insisted the Gunners win all remaining games to end their 22-year wait for a league title.
“That club gave me everything. I wouldn’t be where I am without West Ham,” Rice told Prime Video. “I honestly believe that, when Chelsea didn’t give me a chance, they gave me a chance.
“A lot of people really pushed me.[David]Moyes,[Slaven]Bilic and[Manuel]Pellegrini made me captain. There’s a lot of good at that club, so I’m not happy to see them in the position they’re in.”
“But this is football and we have a job to do on Sunday. We are trying to win the Premier League title and we want to win every game and I’m sure they will want it as well. So we want the best team to win.”
Arsenal complete transfer
Porto have officially announced the permanent transfer of defender Jakub Kiviol from Arsenal.
The centre-back spent the season on loan with the newly crowned Portuguese champions, making 38 appearances in all competitions.
A statement from Porto confirmed that the Arsenal loanee was initially bought for £14.68 million, with the possibility of a further £4.32 million being added on.
Kivior signed a four-year contract with the club with a release clause of £60.45 million. If the Poland international is sold at a later date, Arsenal will receive an additional £1.73 million in fixed fees.
Kivior joined the Gunners from Spezia in January 2023 and made 68 appearances for the north London club.
