Chelsea are preparing for further changes in the summer transfer window. The Blues have had a miserable season and the club could ultimately miss out on qualifying for Europe. Several players face an uncertain future at Stamford Bridge as Chelsea’s leaders deliberate on who will be their next permanent manager.

The appointment of a new manager, combined with the summer signings, will inevitably mean a major restructuring of Chelsea’s squad. Caretaker manager Callum MacFarlane will oversee the remaining four games of the season, including the FA Cup final. However, eight players have already potentially made their last appearance in a Chelsea shirt.

Let’s take a look at each one here and see what happens next…

Garnacho had a disappointing debut season at Chelsea. The winger arrived from Manchester United and has shown flashes of real quality, but has struggled to maintain consistent form.

There are already rumors that he will leave the club in the summer transfer window. Caretaker manager McFarlane gave the Argentina international a start in Chelsea’s FA Cup semi-final victory over Leeds, but Garnacho missed the recent defeat to Nottingham Forest through injury and could be fighting to regain his place before the end of the season.

Robert Sanchez/Philip Jorgensen

Chelsea’s goalkeeper position has been firmly established this term. Sanchez has started 33 league games, while Jorgensen has been forced to settle for a substitute role.

Sanchez has faced criticism since joining from Brighton in 2023, while Jorgensen has similarly struggled to impress when given the chance. The Denmark international recently replaced the injured Sanchez in the match against Forest, making it his fourth league appearance of the season.

It has not yet been decided who will hold the position until the end of the campaign. Despite this, Chelsea’s next manager may wish to bring in a new goalkeeper when he takes charge of the club, which could force at least one shot-stopper to seek a move elsewhere.

Jackson secured a loan move to Bayern Munich last summer. After Joao Pedro and Liam Delap signed for the Blues, the striker found himself relegated to the bottom of the hierarchy.

He was the clear second choice behind Harry Kane during his time in Munich, scoring 10 goals in 31 games.

Bayern have no intention of making his contract permanent, but it seems unlikely that Jackson will choose to fight his way back into Chelsea’s plans next season.

The defender has been outstanding for West Ham United since joining from his parent club in January. He failed in his plans to leave last summer and found himself left out of Chelsea’s squad earlier this season.

West Ham may be keen to keep DiSasi if they secure a top-flight spot, but his form could also attract the attention of a number of other clubs.

Should he return to Stamford Bridge in the summer, his opportunities could become increasingly limited due to his academy results.

And although he has struggled to find playing time since joining Everton on loan in February, there is no shortage of potential suitors in the transfer market.

Fofana is currently on his fifth loan spell away from Chelsea, having joined them in 2023.

The 23-year-old, who made four appearances for the Blues in his maiden season, joined Strasbourg in February but is unlikely to be part of Chelsea’s plans going forward.

Mudryk has been serving a doping ban since December 2024. He is currently appealing his four-year ban and it is thought the case will be sent to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

Mudryk joined Chelsea in January 2023 and made 73 appearances for the club.
