Arsenal have an exciting summer ahead of them, with the transfer window just around the corner. The Gunners have already assembled a squad capable of competing on multiple fronts as Mikel Arteta’s side look to end the campaign with silverware to show for their efforts.

Arsenal took great strides in strengthening their squad last summer, with Victor Gokeres and Ebelesi Eze standing out as their most notable signings. The club will once again enter the transfer market in search of the game’s most prestigious accolade.

But this ambition to bring in fresh talent could see players on the fringes of the first team pushed further down the pecking order. With the Gunners moving closer and closer to winning the Premier League title, a number of players could be set to leave once the season ends.

With just a few games left, several Arsenal players may already be wearing their shirt for the last time under Arteta. Here we take a look at the stars who will be heading to the exit door this summer.

Christian Norgaard was scouted last summer to provide an experienced presence in the engine room, but the former Brentford midfielder has found first-team opportunities difficult to come by. All of his six league appearances have come as substitutes, playing less than 60 minutes, with Arteta firmly placing his faith in the reliable partnership of Declan Rice and Martin Zvimendi.

The 32-year-old continued to be overlooked following Mikel Merino’s injury and saw Myles Lewis-Skelly earn a starting spot ahead of last weekend’s game against Fulham. Given his limited playing time, Norgaard may choose to leave the Gunners to pursue first-team football.

The talented teenager pushed through with a temporary move from Arsenal in January. Nwaneri started four games for the Gunners in the first half of the season before heading to Marseille.

The 19-year-old made an immediate impact at the French club, scoring a goal on his debut. Martin Odegaard and Eze have both struggled with fitness issues, and there was initial concern among some Arsenal supporters that the club had made a mistake in allowing Nwaneri to leave.

Due to Marseille’s change of manager, the midfielder’s development has stalled. Still, Nwaneri could still opt for a permanent move elsewhere if his prospects of breaking into Arteta’s squad next season do not look to improve.

Fabio Vieira has been playing for Arsenal since April 2024. The 25-year-old joined from Porto on a long-term deal in 2022 but has appeared in the Gunners’ last 49 games.

He has spent the past two seasons away from the club and is currently on loan at Hamburg. The midfielder has established himself as a key member of the German national team and his loan deal includes a £17.3m buyout option, which could be activated this summer.

Jakub Kivioglu joined the Portuguese club on loan last summer and looks set to embark on a new chapter with Porto on a permanent transfer. The 26-year-old centre-back made 68 appearances during his two-and-a-half year spell with the Gunners.

Kivior’s transfer to Porto includes an obligation to buy clause. He has made 38 appearances in all competitions and has already won the Primeira Liga title.

The Arsenal academy product returns from a loan spell at Brentford and will enter the final year of his contract. The 26-year-old endured a frustrating injury-plagued season, appearing in just 13 games for the Bees.

Brentford retain the option to make the move permanent if Nelson performs well enough to impress manager Keith Andrews. The winger made his only appearance for Arsenal last season before joining Fulham on loan.
