Manchester United could lose 10 players this summer as INEOS “conducts confrontational transfer negotiations” | Soccer | Sports

Manchester United could sell up to 10 players this summer, with INEOS reportedly in talks over a potential mass exodus. The Red Devils will have a new permanent manager at the helm and will oversee a busy postseason. Manager Michael Carrick has made a strong case for him to be handed the role on a full-time basis, but United bosses are thought to still be weighing their options.

Either way, it will be a busy summer for United as they look to build on their good form next season. They are said to be eyeing the signing of two central midfielders, with the likes of Elliott Anderson and Carlos Baleva being rumored. At least one new attacker could also be a target, with Morgan Rogers thought to be one of the players United are keeping an eye on.

In addition to new signings, a number of players are expected to leave Old Trafford, meaning the team could look very different when the 2026/27 season begins.

According to The Sun, INEOS are considering losing up to 10 players between now and next season.

The paper says Andre Onana, Marcus Rashford, Joshua Zirkzee and Manuel Ugarte are free to find new clubs. Onana and Rashford have spent this season on loan at Trabzonspor and Barcelona respectively.

Trabzonspor are reported to be keen on signing Onana permanently, while Barcelona have an option to sign Rashford for around £26m, but it is thought that interest has waned in recent months.

Meanwhile, Zirksee and Ugarte are reportedly considered non-qualified after failing to make an impact for United this season.

INEOS are said to be considering selling Zirksee for around £22m to avoid losses under the Premier League’s profit and sustainability regulations.

An option could be to negotiate a season-long loan agreement with an interested club, with an obligation to buy, as Napoli did with Rasmus Højlund last summer.

Ugarte’s transfer fee is reported to be around £25 million, but United may struggle to find a buyer at that price given the 25-year-old has been so poor over the last two seasons.

Altay Bayndir is expected to join Besiktas, while United could also sign academy midfielder Toby Collier, who is out of contract next year and currently on loan at Hull City.

Casemiro, Jadon Sancho and Tyrell Malasia will all be released in the summer, while Tyler Fredrickson could also be released when his contract expires in June.

He was given his debut by Ruben Amorim last season, but failed to make an impact at the top level and was linked with a move to Celtic in January. It remains to be seen whether the Scottish giants will return to action in the coming months.
