Thierry Henry has identified two potential concerns for Arsenal ahead of their Champions League clash with Atletico Madrid. The Gunners will face the Spanish side in the first leg of the semi-final at the Metropolitano Stadium on Wednesday night.

Mikel Arteta’s side equalized with a 1-0 win over Newcastle United in the Premier League. This result puts the team ahead of leaders Manchester City.

Arsenal will return to Champions League duties and aim to get closer to the final in Budapest, where Paris Saint-Germain or Bayern Munich await.

However, Arsenal icon Henry has issued a message of warning to his former club, highlighting two areas of concern ahead of the clash with Atletico, football.london reports.

“Unfortunately, professional teams haven’t changed much, especially after the Newcastle game. Solid set-pieces,” Henry said on CBS Sports Golasso on Tuesday night.

“What we noticed was that the team looked a little tired.

“When you have to play in Europe for titles, I experienced physical and mental exhaustion. And we all saw that a lack of creativity could be an issue.”

Speaking to the media at Madrid’s Metropolitano Stadium, Arteta looked ahead to the match between Arsenal and Atlético.

The Gunners manager was asked about his team’s recent scoring record and explained why it warrants attention.

“Yes, we have to try harder,” Arteta said. “We can take shots and the quality of our shots is high. And it was a great example at Newcastle that that can happen.”

“So we want to improve in every department, but at the same time, you have to be exceptional to sit here tonight.

“We’re one of the top four teams in Europe to come here. Imagine how difficult it is.”

Asked about the next game against Atletico, Arteta added: “We have prepared for the game to win, there is no doubt about that.”

“We’ve got to be ourselves and do what we always do against opponents. And let’s see what the team throws, the level we can show, the quality we can show. And hopefully, we’ll see.”
