Arsenal were eyeing a summer raid for PSG winger Hviča Kvaratschelia, but the player’s father has made his position clear as they continue to battle for Champions League qualification.
Arsenal were considering an ambitious move for PSG’s Hviča Kvaratscheria, but the player’s father has gone public, insisting he is “not considering” a move to the club.
The Gunners have been broadly considering signing the Georgian this summer, with the player’s camp remaining open to any offers. But that stance appears to have changed as his commitment to the Paris cause became clear.
Kvaratschelia joined PSG midway through last season and is currently completing his first full season with PSG. He has had a huge impact and continues to score goals and assists on a dominant team.
PSG could become the second team in the Champions League era to feature in the Champions League for the second year in a row, and Kvaratschelia seems to have little interest in leaving unless the club want to sack him, which seems highly unlikely given his track record.
Kvaratskhelia’s father Badri said: “Hviča leaves PSG? He doesn’t think about it. He is happy in Paris, where he is highly valued and respected by the club.”

“Why should he think about moving elsewhere, even though he has won titles with the team and is one of PSG’s key players? If PSG does not want to continue the cooperation, we will consider our options, but that is not being discussed at the moment.”
The Georgian has scored 16 goals in all competitions, making him the team’s top scorer alongside Ousmane Dembele. Despite the quality that exists in Paris, Kvaratschelia remains a regular and there is little reason to move. Arsenal played against Arsenal in the semi-finals of last season’s European competition and we saw first-hand just how influential he can be.
Arsenal have been linked with some big summer moves and are also tracking Julian Alvarez alongside their interest in Kvaratschelia. Barcelona are also eyeing the Atletico Madrid striker as they aim to replace Robert Lewandowski this summer.
The Gunners are still within reach of Premier League glory but have been regularly criticized for their lack of strength in the final third. Their season has been built on a defense regarded as the best in Europe, but they could look to add more firepower in attack this summer if they can secure a blockbuster move.
