Juventus have identified Alisson as their top target in the summer transfer window, with the Liverpool goalkeeper offering to return to Italy eight years after leaving Roma.

Alisson has been tempted by the idea of signing for Juventus, who have an exchange deal with Liverpool. The 33-year-old Brazilian has emerged as Juve’s priority ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Italian giants are reported to be offering current number one Michele Di Gregorio to Liverpool in exchange for Alisson, who made his name in Serie A with one of Juventus’ rivals Roma. His stance on a move to Turin has now emerged.

According to reports from Italy, Alisson is open to joining Juventus, but the final decision will be made by Liverpool. Arne Slott’s side have already lost two experienced players this summer in Andy Robertson and Mo Salah.

Juventus intend to offer Alisson a contract until 2028, with an option for a further 12 months. The former Roma star’s current contract with Liverpool expires at the end of next season.

Alisson spent two years in Italy before moving to Merseyside in 2018 for £67m. Alisson, 33, helped Liverpool win the Champions League in his first season and went on to win two Premier League titles, the FA Cup and the League Cup, establishing himself as one of the world’s best goalkeepers.

Liverpool will sign Giorgi Mamadashvili in 2024, with the Georgia international likely to become Alisson’s long-term successor. Slott was asked last week about the possibility of losing another experienced player and was asked about Alisson’s future.

“I think the club operates in a certain way and we make decisions that we think are in the club’s best interests,” the Liverpool manager said. “And that could mean this is the reason. It could mean another good argument for why we acted the way we did.

“I think if you look at the history of transfers, you’ll see that nothing has ever been done aimlessly or without thought. You see, the people making these decisions are taking everything into account. They’re trying to make the best decision in the best interest of the club.”

“That (experience) is definitely one of the arguments to keep him, but there are other arguments as well. If that is necessary, it is a decision that the club has to make. At the end of the day, he still has a year left.”
