Mohamed Salah faces an uncertain future after leaving Liverpool at the end of this season after nine years at Anfield.
Rangers consultant Stig Inge Bjornebye has revealed that the Ibrox club have held discussions over the future of Liverpool icon Mohamed Salah. The Egyptian forward has confirmed he will leave the Anfield giants at the end of this season after nine years at Liverpool.
Salah confirmed the news during his international break in March and will leave Liverpool this summer, despite having a contract with the club until the end of the 2026/27 season.
The 33-year-old will have no shortage of suitors for the next chapter of his career, with a hugely lucrative move to Saudi Arabia widely tipped as a likely destination.
Former Liverpool star Bjornebye is currently serving as a football consultant and advisor to Rangers on an initial six-month contract, but is widely expected to extend his tenure at the club.

The former Norway international was a guest on Egyptian channel Modern MTI’s modern sports discussion show, where he was asked about Salah’s next move, the Daily Record reported.
And the 56-year-old revealed that Salah was a hot topic within Ibrox. “I don’t know what Mo’s plans are, but I’m an advisor to Rangers, so we talked about it today at work,” Bjornebye said.
“We talked about where he would go and so on, but I think most people appreciate what he has done for Liverpool.

“He is a true Liverpool legend and has done wonders for a great club. He has brought great results to the club over many years.
“Last year there was intense debate over his situation, but the matter has been resolved and he remains loyal to Liverpool.
“I think most people can accept that he has given the club some great years and now wants to take on new opportunities and perhaps embark on new adventures.”
Salah is not the only player to confirm he will leave Liverpool this summer, with Andy Robertson also announcing earlier this month that he would be leaving Anfield when his contract expires at the end of this season.
