Liverpool head coach Arne Slott is under huge pressure this season as the Premier League champions have fallen well below the standards many expected.
Liverpool’s bosses have reportedly agreed that Arne Slott will remain in charge of the team next season. The Dutch head coach is under intense pressure this season.
Slot’s defending Premier League champions have endured a miserable season with the Reds sitting fifth in the table, 15 points behind league leaders Manchester City. Liverpool were also eliminated from both the domestic cup competition and the Champions League.
The Reds’ disappointing season follows a big-spending summer at Anfield, with big-money signings of Alexander Isak, Florian Wertz and Hugo Ekitike on Merseyside. But injuries have also played a role in the struggles of Isaac and now Ekitike, who is facing a long layoff.

The Daily Mail cited these factors and claimed that Liverpool’s leaders agree they are contributing to the problem. Therefore, it is said that there is a belief that slots should remain.
But they added that the club’s leadership was not blind to the Reds’ astonishing performance, including how Slott’s team looked bullied and vulnerable.

Reports that Slott will remain on Merseyside have been backed by former Reds centre-back Jamie Carragher.
“The Arne Slott job has been talked about all season, we’ve talked about it a lot on Monday Night Football,” he told Sky Sports.
“Liverpool supporters will be divided on whether he should stay or leave, but the voices I hear are that Slott will be Liverpool manager next season if we qualify for the Champions League. They intend to do that now.”
Slott also spoke about his plans for next season in Friday’s pre-match press conference, ahead of Saturday’s match against Crystal Palace (3pm AEST).
He said: “I’m mainly here for the short, medium to long term, mainly for the Palace game. There’s some talk about next season, but my main focus is this season.”
“The difference is small and one or two results can make a big difference. Two weeks ago we were less than five points off sixth place. It could go either way. The focus is on Palace, but we haven’t been able to beat them in three games this season.”
“We’ve had 16 points in the last eight games, but it doesn’t always feel like that. Our recent league form has been acceptable.”
Liverpool need nine more points from their remaining five Premier League games to finish in the top five and qualify for next season’s Champions League.
