Bruno Fernandes has spoken about his decision to stay at Manchester United last summer.
Bruno Fernandes has explained how his wife played a key role in his decision to stay at Manchester United last summer amid rumors of a potential move to Saudi Arabia.
Fernandes was heavily linked with a move from Old Trafford last summer, with the Saudi Professional League mentioned as a possible destination.
The United captain played a key role in leading the club to become one of the favorites to qualify for next season’s Champions League under the guidance of interim head coach Michael Carrick.
Fernandes has scored eight goals and provided 19 assists in all competitions this season, including 18 in the Premier League, helping the Red Devils move into third place in the overall standings with five games remaining.

There were numerous rumors last summer that Fernandes could be linked with a move to United, with the Saudi Professional League club reportedly making a move for the Portugal international.
Instead, the 31-year-old has chosen to remain at United and is looking to lead the club to Champions League qualification.
Fernandes appeared on BBC Sport’s Wayne Rooney Show and revealed his decision to stay at United was made after a conversation with his wife.
“I stayed because I thought there was still something I could do to give back to the club,” Fernandes said on the podcast.
“Obviously, there was a lot going on, the situation in Saudi Arabia, the money thing, things like that. The good thing about my family is that my wife is pretty down-to-earth, like me.

“We know very well that we don’t want to be the richest people in the world. We just want them to realize the dreams they had, have a good life with their children, and be as successful as possible.”
“My wife’s words were, ‘Did you achieve your dreams? Did you achieve everything you wanted?’
“And that one little thing she said told me she was on the same page as me. Let’s keep trying and see where this takes me.”
