Liverpool are already set to bid farewell to Mo Salah and Andy Robertson this summer, with goalkeeper Alisson Becker linked with a move away from Anfield.
Arn Slott insists Alisson is solely focused on returning to fitness and is not paying attention to “rumours” linking him with a move from Liverpool. The Brazilian goalkeeper has been linked with a move away from Anfield this summer, with Italian giants Juventus also reportedly interested in signing him.
Alisson’s contract runs until 2027. And Slott confirmed that neither he nor the goalie would be involved in the speculation.
Instead, the pair are solely focused on Alisson’s return to fitness, with the Brazilian currently sidelined with a knee injury. Speaking at a press conference ahead of this weekend’s game against Crystal Palace, the Dutchman said: “I’m only focused on the short-term future and that’s getting him back in goal as soon as possible.”
“I think the answer is that with all the rumors that are going around about him and probably about me and others, we don’t respond to rumors in this room and we don’t respond in conversations with (sporting director) Richard (Hughes).”

“We will only react if we have to give the facts, but at the moment we are not in that situation. The main focus for Alli is very clear: it is to get back in goal as soon as possible for the club he loves to play for, and after that he wants to be in goal for the country he wants to play for, namely Brazil. I think that is already the short and medium-term future.”
If Alisson leaves, he will be the third long-term player to leave the club this season. Mo Salah and Andrew Robertson have already confirmed that their glittering Liverpool careers will come to an end at the end of this season.
Alisson joined the Reds from Roma in Italy for £67 million in 2018 and made 332 appearances for the club. Freddie Woodman is likely to start after Giorgi Mamadashvili’s injury, but he could be back in action this weekend and could be added to the slot.
Commenting on his decision, Slott added: “Giorge will definitely be out tomorrow and he will be out for the next couple of weeks. Alli is close to returning to play so let’s see if tomorrow is too soon, yes or no. And of course Freddie Woodman remains an option and he is definitely the right fit.”
Liverpool will be aiming to take a big step towards qualifying for the Champions League with a win this weekend. The Reds currently sit in fifth place, five points behind Brighton for the final Champions League spot with five games left in the season.
