Manchester United are looking to sign Palmeiras teenager Eduardo Conceição as they prepare to take on Premier League rivals and European powerhouse Barcelona.
Manchester United are set to take on the likes of Manchester City and Barcelona as they focus on Palmeiras teenage sensation Eduardo Conceição.
The 16-year-old is rapidly rising to prominence and is becoming one of the most popular players on the planet despite his young age. United themselves are preparing a £34m bid in a bid to jump to the front of the queue and land Conceição.
Talks have begun, but Palmeiras is not the only player who has been in contact with City, with City and the Spanish giants both aiming to win the race for his signature. Barcelona are thought to have the advantage due to the gravitational pull of sporting director Deco, who is in direct contact with Palmeiras’ academy coordinator as part of the approach.
City itself has a good history with the Brazilian side. They previously negotiated to sign Gabriel Jesus early in Josep Guardiola’s reign and signed defender Vitor Reis last season.
United themselves may believe their recent rise could tempt a potential signing. They are set to offer Champions League football, which remains a huge draw for players despite their obvious struggles over the past decade.

Palmeiras themselves want to maximize their profits and are willing to pay a hefty transfer fee. The club expects him to earn at least £34m, with the possibility of further increases. They have already rejected an offer from Newcastle worth £21.5 million plus £12.9 million in bonuses, the Daily Mail reports.
Conceição’s future may depend on whether 22-year-old midfielder Allan, who is a regular at the club, remains at the club. They recently turned down a £30m offer from Napoli, but Palmeiras may be inclined to hold on to their teenager, whose value could increase even more if he ends up leaving.
Conceição’s agent is preparing for the move and is meeting with several European clubs. His family has traveled to countries including England and France to consider potential destinations in preparation for leaving their homeland.
Conceição’s recent performance in the Under-20 Cup in the region known as Copyña, where he played seven games and scored four goals and provided three assists, further raised his profile. He also took center stage as Brazil advanced to the latter stages of the South American Under-17 Championship.
