Andoni Iraola has been linked with the Manchester United managerial job and has spoken about his future at Bournemouth.
Andoni Iraola has clarified that his decision to leave AFC Bournemouth was not motivated by temptation to take up a managerial role elsewhere. Iraola has been linked with Manchester United and Newcastle as a managerial candidate, and news of his impending departure has fueled speculation that he could be linked with a move to Old Trafford this summer.
The 43-year-old is set to leave Bournemouth at the end of this season when his contract expires, leading to speculation that he could become United’s new manager in the coming months.
United are expected to appoint a permanent manager in the coming months, with reports naming Iraola as a potential replacement for Michael Carrick, who was appointed as interim head coach earlier this year.
Bournemouth are due to play Newcastle in the Premier League this weekend, but Iraola has spoken about his reasons for choosing to leave the Cherries at the end of the season, reports the Manchester Evening News.

Iraola also emphasized that this decision was not made with the assumption that he would be moving to another club.
“This decision was not about other clubs, no other clubs were involved. It was either to continue here or not to continue here,” Iraola said.
“I don’t know what I want to do next season. I don’t know if I’m going to coach a team or a club. I don’t know if I’m going to coach an international team. I don’t know if I’m going to coach on this continent. I don’t know what’s going to happen.
“I don’t know if you’ll believe it, but it’s true. And I’m in no hurry to find out.

“It’s a big decision for me. I want to focus on what we have at this moment. The next six games are very important for us. We will have time to think.”
Iraola is not the only option at United, with Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner also being linked as a possible replacement for Carrick.
Glasner is set to leave Palace at the end of the campaign and has since been linked with a managerial vacancy at United.
Carrick has led United to third place in the Premier League table with six games remaining and has also been linked with rumors of securing the role permanently.
