“I think I just enjoyed watching football,” he says of his youthful enthusiasm for future coaching and management roles.
“I loved the game, I loved watching different teams, different styles. As a player, it was the same.”
“Every manager I’ve worked with has seen good and bad things about the team, the training sessions and the way we approach tactically.
“At the same time, when you look at the other coaches from afar, you can see that I really appreciate their work.
“You just take things and add them to the way you work and the way you play football.
“I think there were big influences in football: Jose Mourinho, Sir Alex Ferguson, Pep Guardiola.”
Beyond Premier League legends, Rosenior looks to continental names for inspiration.
“Arrigo Sacchi changed football with his AC Milan team (which won the European Cup in 1989 and 1990).
“I think the coaches that I really appreciate are the ones that had a real impact on the game.”
In terms of impact on the pitch, one of Chelsea’s greatest players has risen to the top of the game with the support of his manager after a breakthrough season in the Premier League.
The 18-year-old, who joined from Palmeiras for £29 million last summer, has scored eight goals and provided three assists in all competitions for Chelsea.
Estevao recently returned from injury and will be hoping to build on his performance in the remaining games of the season, starting with the game against United.
Asked what Estevao’s strengths are, Rosenoir said: “Just his fearlessness.
“His technique, his ability to fight again one-on-one and two-on-one sometimes. He’s an outstanding player. He’s been practicing very hard and he wants to learn.”

Rosenior also highlighted the player’s off-field personality and how that will help him develop on the pitch.
“He is very humble and wants to improve,” he added.
“He’s always smiling and I love that because he really enjoys football. And he also has a great family who raised him in a great way.”
“So if you have that foundation, you can continue to do whatever you want to do in your career.
“He can be and do whatever he wants.”
Asked about the heights the player could ultimately reach, including a possible Ballon d’Or, Rosenior sought to temper those specific expectations.
“I don’t like to talk about personal accolades. I want him to focus on the now and continue to grow.
“But like I said, with his temperament and ability, with a little bit of luck and effort, he can do anything he wants.”

Estavao has been one of the players Chelsea have targeted in recent years, reducing the average age of the squad to the youngest in the division.
The Brazilian could be part of a bright future for the club, but Rosenior said he was focused on the present as he looks to help the team overcome recent disappointing results.
“We always want everyone involved with the club to be excited about the future,” he said.
“But to give them that excitement, we need to give them a good result and a good performance in this moment, and that’s what we’re focusing on right now.
“The future will come, but all we have to do is focus on our performance and results now and carry that excitement into the future.”
Chelsea are sixth in the Premier League table, four points adrift of fifth place, which could qualify for the Champions League, and seven points behind third-placed Man United.
The Blues have won only their last seven league games and lost four of their last five, and Rosenior is hoping to turn the club’s fortunes around with six games remaining this season.
Asked if a win would give him a good result, Rosenoir said: “I hope so.” “But we can’t look too far ahead.

“Concentrate on each game. The next game for us is a home game against Manchester United.
“If we can perform really well there and get a result, then we will look to the (next league game) against Brighton and move on from there.”
“We have to earn it with our performance on the pitch,” he said. “We need to give the fans something to root for, we need to give them something to chase. Hopefully we can do that on Saturday.”
