Manchester City have joined the race to sign Brazilian teenager Eduardo Conceição, who spent his career at Palmeiras and already has an £87m price tag attached.
Manchester City are one of the teams interested in signing Palmeiras teenager Eduardo Conceição, who has also attracted interest from PSG and Chelsea.
Conceição hasn’t even made his senior debut for the Brazilian national team, but his stock remains very high after impressing at youth level. As a result, many of Europe’s elite players are ready and waiting, but may have to match the staggering £87m price tag set by Palmeiras.
Scouts were impressed by the 16-year-old’s recent performances in the region’s Under-20 Cup, called Copina, where he scored four goals and provided three assists in seven appearances. He also took center stage as Brazil advanced to the latter stages of the South American Under-17 Championship.
Despite the huge price tag, Palmeiras are expected to be willing to negotiate and accept a lower fee if they can land Conceição.

The teenager can play as a left winger or attacking midfielder. Some clubs have already made bids of around £25 million. The Times reports that it is unclear how City rate Conceição.
The Manchester side maintain a good relationship with Palmeiras and negotiated with Palmeiras to sign Gabriel Jesus 10 years ago, at the time he was considered one of the best young players in the world. They recently made a deal with the Brazilian side, signing Vitor Reis.
City themselves have been undergoing a rebuild under Josep Guardiola over the past 18 months. Rayan Cherki, Tijani Rejnders and Abdukkodir Kusanov are all signed and are important players. Antoine Semenyo and Marc Guéhi arrived in January and both made an immediate impact.
Premier League rivals Chelsea have a policy of signing young players they believe they can develop, and Conceição certainly fits into that category. The Blues themselves made a deal for Palmeiras in the summer, signing Estevao for £29m.
Under FIFA regulations, Conceição is not eligible to move to Europe until January 2028, so any deal will need to be done with a long-term perspective as he won’t be able to join his new team immediately.
