Manchester United are heading into a hugely important summer transfer window, which has been heralded after Altay Bajndir revealed his intention to leave for Besiktas.
Manchester United’s reserve goalkeeper Altay Bindir has reportedly already agreed to leave the club in the summer transfer window. Bindil has not been able to sit on the bench since Senne Ramens arrived in September and is ready to leave Old Trafford and return to Turkey.
Báindir joined United from Fenerbahce in September 2023 for a fee of £4.3 million. He has made just 17 appearances for the club over the past two-and-a-half seasons, finishing behind Andre Onana and Lamence in the standings.
After Onana was loaned to Trabzonspor, he was given the starting job by coach Ruben Amorim, and he started the 2025/26 season on a positive note. However, things changed after signing Lamence from Royal Antwerp for £18.2m and he is now ready to leave.
Lamence has become the undisputed No. 1 keeper, and the goalkeeping department will undergo major personnel changes this summer. United want Onana to join him permanently, and it has been revealed that Bajndir is keen to join Besiktas.

Turkish media outlet Fanatic reported that the 27-year-old had agreed personal terms with Besiktas, who had been heavily linked with a move to Bayndir in January. United are not expected to stand in the way of their second-choice goalkeeper, with a transfer expected to be announced at the end of the season.
Bindil appeared in six Premier League games under Amorim at the start of the season, but has been on the bench since the 3-1 loss to Brentford on 27 September. The keeper’s contract with United runs until June 2027, and the club will collect a small transfer fee for the keeper.
Meanwhile, Onana has two years left on his contract with United and is reported to have no intention of giving up on the club. The Cameroon international has made 26 appearances on loan at Trabzonspor, and United are believed to be looking for a buyer.

ESPN reports that Onana’s salary will increase significantly if the club qualify for the Champions League, making his departure even more important ahead of the crucial summer transfer window. Onana is on the transfer list, along with fellow loanees Marcus Rashford and Rasmus Hjølund, as the club’s bosses hope to finance the acquisition of a top-class midfielder through a sale.
United have prioritized signing a central midfielder, but with Bindir’s pending departure and Onana’s desire to be sold, they may need another goalkeeper. Back-up goalkeeper Tom Heaton, 39, is out of contract at the end of June, meaning three keepers could leave the club.
A backup goalkeeper to support Ramens is not as high on the priority list as CEO Omar Berrada and director of football Jason Wilcox, but it is still a consideration. It has been suggested that United could look to the free agent market this summer to meet their needs without spending a fortune.
