Champions League semi-final dates confirmed, remaining 4 matches scheduled as PSG aims to defend European title
Arsenal will begin their bid to reach the Champions League final when they face Atletico Madrid in Spain on April 29, with the second leg of the semi-final at home.
The Gunners came close to beating Sporting Lisbon at the Emirates to reach the last four for the second consecutive year. Mikel Arteta’s side won 1-0 in Portugal and held the visitors to a 0-0 draw at home. They lost to PSG last season and will face Atlético 12 months later.
Diego Simeone’s side suffered a 4-0 defeat to Arsenal earlier this season, but managed to beat Barcelona in the last eight, setting up a semi-final encounter. Simeone is aiming to reach the Champions League final for the third time after losing to Real Madrid in 2014 and 2016.
They host the Premier League side in late April before heading to London on May 5. In the other semi-final, holders PSG will face Bayern Munich. The German giants were defeated in the greatest classic semi-final of all time, decided by late shocks from Luis Diaz and Mikael Olise.
PSG looked tempting at times as they look to end Liverpool’s second-year European dream with a turnaround and win back-to-back titles.

The semi-final will be a repeat of the 2020 Champions League final, which was won by the German side. PSG will host the first leg on April 28th before heading to the Allianz Arena eight days later on May 6th.
PSG won the European Cup for the first time in their history last year, defeating Inter Milan in the final in Munich. Luis Enrique led Barcelona’s path to glory in 2015 and is aiming for a third Champions League success.
Arsenal and Atletico are both aiming to win their first European title. Each team loses to a finalist, but each time one team wins, it takes them 90 minutes to reach their first win.
Meanwhile, Bayern Munich and Real had a thrilling showdown, with the hosts winning 4-3 on the night, with the encounter ending 6-4 on aggregate in favor of the German giants. Eduardo Camavinga was sent off late on, and late goals from former Liverpool winger Diaz and Oliseh secured victory.
