Bruno Fernandes may have already decided whether to press ahead with a summer move from Manchester United. The midfielder has been one of the best performers in the Premier League this season, making 28 appearances and providing 16 assists. His impressive form has helped the Red Devils move up the table since Michael Carrick was appointed as the team’s stablemate in January.
As it stands, he remains in custody until 2027, but there is growing talk of his possible resignation. The Saudi club are thought to be keen to lure Fernandes to the Gulf nation in the summer. Last year, he was the subject of a high bid from Al Hilal, but ended up staying at Old Trafford.
He later suggested that United’s higher-ups wanted him to leave but lacked the courage to go against manager Ruben Amorim, who wanted to keep him.
But last month it was reported that INEOS had changed their tune and told Fernandes they would do everything in their power to avoid leaving the club in the summer.
The 31-year-old seems to think the same way, telling Blazer Men that he has lived in Manchester since 2020 and that his family feels settled in the city.
“I feel at home in Manchester and my children feel at home here,” Fernandes said. “So it’s great for me to be in a place like Manchester where the kids have so much fun and they feel so at home.
“I felt like a Manchenian until I heard the kids speaking English with an accent. Then I realized I wasn’t like them.”
United want Fernandes to stay but cannot prevent him from negotiating with overseas clubs if a suitable offer comes in.
Fabrizio Romano said this was because there was a release clause in his contract that would allow him to join a team outside England for around £57 million.

However, Fernandes feels as settled as ever and there is no guarantee that he will be happy to accept offers from elsewhere.
Carrick last month insisted United had no plans to cash in on the playmaker’s contract, despite rumors surrounding his future.
“When it comes to the club and its future, it’s difficult for me to get too involved in it,” the interim head coach said.
“I can say that Bruno is definitely not someone we want to lose. He’s important to us and definitely someone we don’t want to lose.
“Bruno has been doing it for a long time. Making the difference in important moments, scoring and creating, he works on that on a regular basis. He has a very good understanding with Case (Casemiro) and he works with Jonny (Evans) on set-pieces.”
“There’s a bit of an area where you can coach and then there’s a bit of an understanding with the players, they have a great connection with it.
“Then pass it around and get yourself in position to make the final pass. So if I’m sitting here and haven’t said anything about Bruno before, there’s not much else to say.”
