Liverpool, led by Arne Slott, have lost four games in a row, leaving the Reds just one step away from qualifying for the Champions League. Slott rolled the dice and set up a three-at-the-back formation with two wing-backs, but it was a night in which Liverpool flattered and cheated.
It looked like it was going to be a long night for an unsettled Liverpool when PSG took the lead after 11 minutes after changing the team’s tactical set-up. At first glance, Desire Due’s shot looked like a potential goal of the season, but replays showed it went wide and suggested Giorgi Mamadashvili had no chance to save.
Liverpool looked more solid as the first half progressed, but their efforts were undone midway through the second half when Hviča Kvaratschelia danced through the Reds’ defense to score a stylish second goal. PSG were denied a third goal on several occasions, with only a VAR check to save their blushes when Ibrahima Konate’s final tackle was initially awarded as a penalty on the pitch.
Initially, commentary was scheduled for his role in the opening game, but those comments were withdrawn after the deviation was revealed. Overall, it wasn’t a match like Alisson vs. PSG last year, but the Georgian made a number of important saves to keep the scores low, but his second goal was deceived by Kvaratskhelia’s dazzling feet.
Despite playing in a more comfortable position as wing-back, he is completely ineffective on the right flank. Despite finding himself in a promising position in the final third, the Dutchman’s performance when winning the ball completely disappointed him.
It looked like they had given away a penalty and dropped Cranger, but if they had done that they could have ended up with a tie. However, after the decision was made on the pitch, the referee naturally overturned it upon reconsideration. The new look back three wasn’t perfect, but at least they played good defense at times.
It took him some time to get used to the game, and he was sometimes left out of position in the first half. As the match progressed, he understood the unusual set-up and was the key to stopping PSG’s rampage.
He faced the unenviable challenge of playing as a left-most centre-back, but held his own against one of the best attacks in European football.
As a wing-back he was given more attacking freedom, but he still didn’t impress at all. The Hungarian has faith in the bank considering it is his first season with the Merseysiders. However, the situation needs to improve.
They probably had the most difficult job on the pitch, given how easily PSG’s midfield moved the ball around. All things considered, it worked.

It hasn’t been a vintage season, but the Argentine improved his performance from Saturday (it couldn’t have gotten any worse). He thwarted PSG’s dangerous counterattacks on several occasions.
He has been a talisman for Liverpool on several occasions this season, but has failed to impress in the French capital. He never got into the game and Liverpool largely lacked impact in the final third.
What is he there to do? Is it true? That’s not disrespecting the players, but rather the coach. It’s April, and Slott still doesn’t seem to know what he wants from a playmaker. For the former Bayer Leverkusen man, Xabi Alonso’s arrival probably can’t come soon enough.
Liverpool’s only exit at the top of the pitch, but it kept running into dead ends all too often. At times he was careless in possession and when opportunities arose, the Frenchman lacked composure in front of goal. poor.
Liverpool will welcome his return, although he was unable to do anything for around 20 minutes on the pitch.
Added energy to the middle of the park.
I knew where to be and when to drop if needed.
Apparently, it took 15 minutes to play.
