Manchester United look set to head into a busy summer transfer window with a number of players expected to leave while they aim to make a big-money move for Elliott Anderson.
Manchester United plan to part ways with eight players in a bid to secure a move for big hitter Elliott Anderson this summer. The Nottingham Forest star, valued at £100m, has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford, with Sir Jim Ratcliffe looking to raise funds by selling a number of players.
According to The Sun, Rasmus Hjøjlund, Manuel Ugarte, Joshua Zirkzee, Andre Onana and Marcus Rashford are all set to be sold. Hoylund and Rashford are expected to earn at least £60m, with options to buy on loan to Napoli and Barcelona respectively.
However, while Ugarte and Zylkey are expected to lose big, it is claimed that United are demanding £19m for Onana to avoid taking a hit in terms of complying with profit and sustainability rules. The departure of Tyrell Malasia, Jadon Sancho and Casemiro as free agents will also free up payroll funds.

His replacement’s departure has already been confirmed and Anderson is expected to arrive as his replacement. Bruno Guimarães, Sandro Tonali, Adam Wharton, Joao Gomez and Carlos Barreba are also rumored midfielders.
Anderson appears to be United’s top choice, but they will be competing for him with Manchester City, who could lose Rodri within the next few trade windows. Regardless of who takes over as permanent manager, strengthening the midfield is a clear priority for United, and they are likely to sign two players if Ugarte leaves the club to join Casemiro.
Securing Champions League football will be key to ensuring sufficient funds for transfer plans. United currently sit third in the Premier League table and are well placed to return to Europe’s elite next season, with five teams due to progress through the league table.

Due to the international break and the FA Cup quarter-finals, there will be 24 days between the 2-2 draw against Bournemouth and Leeds United on Monday 13th April.
Bruno Fernandes, 31, is in sensational form and will be looking to make his fifth consecutive appearance with a goal contribution. In addition to signing a successor to Casemiro, United may also have to consider signing a replacement for Fernandes in the near future.
West Ham United star Matheus Fernandes is being considered, with United’s captain set to recommend the Portuguese midfielder, according to reports. The Hammers, who were relegated from the Premier League, could have their plans brought forward as Fernandes could be available on a cut-price deal and is unlikely to remain at the London Stadium to play Championship football.
United will need a bigger squad to play European football again, with much more depth at the top and at the back than they currently have in midfield.
