Enzo Fernandes missed Chelsea’s 7-0 FA Cup win over Port Vale and will miss the next Premier League game after hinting at a move to Real Madrid
Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior has issued a response after Enzo Fernandes’ agent, Javier Pastore, gave a shocking interview in which he labeled his client’s punishment “totally unfair”. Fernandes, 25, missed two games after being approached with a move to Real Madrid around the time of the recent international break.
The Argentine has touted the idea of living in Madrid and previously revealed he was open to leaving Chelsea after this summer’s World Cup. Fernandes also named Real legends Toni Kroos and Luka Modric as two of his idols.
Chelsea’s leaders have decided to ban their vice-captain from Saturday’s FA Cup quarter-final at home to Port Vale. Fernandes is also not expected to play when Chelsea face Manchester City in the Premier League next Sunday.
Rosenior was asked about Pastore’s comments after the Blues booked their ticket to Wembley with a resounding 7-0 win. “That’s his opinion. I have nothing to say about other people’s opinions,” the Chelsea manager replied.

“Enzo knows how I feel about him and it was great to see him here today to support the players. We’ll move forward and make sure we have a really good run-in with the season.”
Rosenior was then asked if Fernandes had apologized to his teammates. “As I said yesterday, when it comes to something like this, any conversations you have with an individual player, Enzo or anyone in the team should be kept to yourself,” he explained.
“The dressing room is a sacred place. Yesterday I made it clear to him what I think of him as a person. He is a top, top guy. But at the same time, I want him to focus on football now and achieve what he wants to achieve throughout the season.”

Asked whether he thought Chelsea’s sanctions were unfair, Rosenior said: “I’m sure that at the right time, at the right time, it’s not now, but given what we’ve been through, there will be a discussion about what was discussed between me and Enzo.”
“Enzo and I are in a very good situation. I met him today and had a very good one-on-one conversation, but things are not what people think they are.”
