Everton believe they can secure a permanent deal from Jack Grealish, who starred on Merseyside after joining on loan from Manchester City.
The playmaker looked like a reborn player at Hill Dickinson Stadium before an injury ended his season in January. His future will still be a big topic in the summer and I’m sure the Toffees will be able to get the player back, but this time on a permanent basis.
Grealish has ultimately been a disappointment since his £100m move to Manchester in 2021. He only has one year left on his contract, but his £300,000-a-week wage could be a difficult hurdle to overcome. It is thought that his current contract includes an option to sign him for £50m.
The Daily Mail reports that Everton’s bosses are hoping to reduce this figure and believe that a fee of around £20 million would be more appropriate for a player whose contract expires in 12 months.
The Toffees’ financial situation has improved since moving to the new stadium, with a number of events already being held and generating additional income. This can be a big plus when it comes to summer business.

Grealish has spent an extended period of time on Merseyside recovering after sustaining a stress fracture in his foot, which Everton see as a big plus. The former Aston Villa man quickly became popular with the club’s fan base and the Toffees never missed out on Champions League qualification.
The 30-year-old had two goals and six assists before the season ended. Grealish is no longer part of the England squad but spoke of his love for David Moyes, who could play a key role if Everton sign a long-term loan player.

Grealish previously said: “It’s a great team and I absolutely love the manager. I’ve only known him for a few months and I can’t speak highly enough of him as a person. He’s a huge part of how he makes me feel and how he makes me want to play for him. We’re on a roll. We’re very lucky to have such a great club and such a great fan base and this is one of them.”
Summer reinforcements were key to Everton’s best season in years. Tierno Barry and Keenan Dewsbury-Hall were signed for a total of £51m, making them joint top scorers.
