Liverpool are reportedly set to put five first-team players on a sale list this summer. This is believed to include Kodi Gakpo and Alexis Mac Allister.
According to The Sun, Gakpo, Joe Gomez, Mac Allister and Federico Chiesa will all be on the transfer list when the summer transfer window opens.
In addition to these potential sales, the future of Curtis Jones is also uncertain, and Ibrahima Konate is yet to sign a new contract, with his current contract expiring in June. There could also be a change at the top, with sporting director Richard Hughes reportedly being targeted by the Saudi Professional League club.
All things considered, including Salah’s departure, the Reds could part ways with seven first-team players over the coming period. Slott’s team spent a staggering £450m last summer.
When asked in December why this season wasn’t as winning as the first, Slott said: “When you bring in a lot of new players and a lot of players leave, you usually see them playing better football after they’ve been together a little bit longer.
“We have more time to train, we have more time to play together. I think you could see that last season, because Jurgen (Klopp) and the team were exactly the same the year before.”
“I thought we played very good football, especially in the first half of the season. It helps when players are together for a long time, and I think history has shown us many times that the longer players play together, the better their chances of winning something.”
“If you add players to the team you have now, there is also a big chance to improve. When you replace players like we did, it takes time, but usually things get better after a period of time.”
