Joshua Zirkzee has been linked with a move from Manchester United this summer, but the striker is said to be determined to remain at Old Trafford.
Joshua Zirkzee has indicated his ‘intention’ to remain at Manchester United despite continuing rumors of him leaving Old Trafford this summer. It is also said that the striker’s camp is “unconvinced” that the club will target a new attacker in the summer, despite rumors of several striker signings.
Zirksee has struggled to get regular minutes for United this season, and his future has been a topic of speculation as a result. United signed Zirksee from Bologna in the summer of 2024 when Erik ten Hag was in charge, but the striker has made just 20 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring two goals.
The Manchester Evening News reports that midfield and defense are the club’s priority areas, with speculation suggesting United are likely to be in the market for additional signings this summer, with the Red Devils potentially looking to strengthen their attacking options again.
This is despite United using three of their four signings to strengthen their forward department last summer, with Brian Mbeumo, Benjamin Sesco and Matheus Cunha all joining Old Trafford.

Zirksee is one of several players who could leave United this summer as part of a further review, with new updates on the striker’s future revealed.
The Daily Mail claims Zirksee wants to remain at United beyond this summer, despite a lack of consistent playing time and persistent rumors about a potential departure.
The report also suggests that sources in Zirksee’s camp are “not convinced” that United will sign an additional forward this summer, despite other speculation suggesting otherwise.
Zirksee is also said to be confident that his club’s return to European competition will give them a better chance of securing playing time next season, with United looking certain to finish third.

Serie A clubs were interested in signing Zirksee during the January transfer window, but the striker remained at Old Trafford and no deal was finalized.
Juventus forward Dusan Vlahovic and Palmeiras talent Vitor Roque have been linked with a move to United in recent months, but Zirkzee’s camp do not expect the signing of another striker to be on the radar for the Old Trafford hierarchy.
Separate reports from Sky Sports earlier this week claimed that United are aiming to earn more than £100m from the player’s departure, with Zirkzee one of five players they want to let go this summer.
Zirksee is accompanied by Marcus Rashford, Rasmus Hjølund, Manuel Ugarte and Andre Onana, all of whom are said to be able to leave United permanently this summer.
