Harry Kane’s contract with Bayern Munich expires next summer, fueling speculation about the former England captain’s future.
Bayern Munich honorary chairman Uli Hoeness has tried to distance interested parties by claiming Harry Kane is worth more than £200m. Kane has had an incredible run with Bayern this season, scoring 48 goals in 40 games, and has attracted attention from rival clubs.
The England captain has been linked with Barcelona as well as teams in the Saudi Professional League, as his current contract expires in June 2027. In January, entering the final 18 months of his contract, his termination fee was reduced to a whopping £57m.
However, for that price to materialize this summer, Kane would have to inform Bayern of his intention to leave by the end of January. The 32-year-old did not do so and Mr Hoeness insisted he was not going anywhere.
“(Kane) didn’t exercise his release clause, which means he’s definitely contracted here until the summer of 2027,” he told Kicker.

“What I’m hearing and feeling is that he and his family feel very comfortable here. You never know when the Saudis are going to show up and throw a lot of money, but he feels very at home.”
He added: “I think Harry Kane was worth €150m (£130m). But you’ll see that Alexander Isak was worth €150m to Liverpool.” “If Isaac is worth 150 million, Harry is worth 250 million euros (£217 million).”
Isak signed for Liverpool from Newcastle in September for £125 million, a record fee in British history. He has scored just three goals in 16 appearances for the Reds this season, and his debut season was plagued by injuries.
Kane, by contrast, has a purple spot in front of goal, having scored 133 goals in just 136 games since joining Bayern from Tottenham in the summer of 2023. He has frequently expressed his satisfaction at Bavaria and recently dismissed suggestions by Barcelona presidential candidates that he was discussing a move to La Liga.
“I haven’t heard anything about it,” the Bayern star said. “My father and brother are doing everything, but I am not told anything. As I said, I am very happy here at Bayern. I am focused on this season and my time at Bayern. I take that as a compliment.”
Bayern are keen to sign Kane to another contract, which could see him earn £400,000 a week. But outwardly, the club is projecting calm authority over the situation.
“He still has a year and a half left on his contract,” Bayern sporting director Christoph Freund said recently. “He feels very comfortable here. We are not stressed about it.
“He should stay as he is and continue to feel comfortable with his family in Munich. That way he can stay in Munich for a long time.”
