Cole Palmer is reportedly unhappy with life at Chelsea and is pushing for a move this summer, with Manchester United, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich all options.
Chelsea face a battle to sign Cole Palmer in the summer transfer window, with the star player reportedly anxious and weighing his options. News of Palmer’s misfortune in west London is not new, but it now appears he has escalated the situation.
The 23-year-old suffered a disappointing start to the season due to injury problems, but is now back as a regular for Chelsea. He has played in 25 games so far in the 2025/26 season, scoring 10 goals and providing three assists, making him a key player in Liam Rosenior’s team.
However, things have gone from bad to worse for the Blues of late, with four consecutive defeats and a humiliating 8-2 loss to Paris Saint-Germain from the Champions League, resulting in them losing their place in the Premier League. Chelsea are sixth in the Premier League after defeats to Everton and Newcastle and could miss out on Champions League qualification.
As a result, the team could struggle to retain a player like Palmer, even though playmaker Palmer’s contract runs through 2033. The Sun reports that Palmer is “increasingly disillusioned” and is “looking to leave” in the summer.

Manchester United, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are all interested in signing Palmer, with the deal reportedly worth £150m. A return to Manchester has previously been mooted, but United are thought to be prioritizing a central midfield and left winger in the coming window.
Palmer is reportedly unhappy with the tactical changes under Rosenior and has missed playing alongside Nicholas Jackson, who was loaned to Bayern at the start of the season. Palmer linked up well with the Senegal internationals last season, but not as much with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap.
Mr. Rosenior has continually insisted that Mr. Palmer is not going anywhere. “Is he untouchable or happy? That’s right,” the Chelsea manager said in January. “Simply put, Cole Palmer is a great player, as are a lot of the players in the group. Cole is here, we’re very happy and we can’t wait to see him get back on the field.”
“What we’re thinking about is how we can make this team better, how he can develop and how I can help him. He loves being here and wants to be a Chelsea player.”
Asked about Palmer and Enzo Fernandes earlier this month, Rosenior said: “I have a very, very good relationship with the players. We talk all the time. Not just about football and the contract situation, but also about their lives, how they’re doing with their kids, how their kids are doing, how they’re doing at school. I have a very, very close relationship with Enzo and the other players.”
“In terms of contracts and where they want to be, there hasn’t been a single player at this club since I’ve been here who has said they don’t want to be here in the summer. Really, the conversations are centered around how we can improve, what we can do as a group to improve, what we need to do to win at this moment. That’s where we are at the moment.”
