Tottenham Hotspur ace James Maddison is inching closer to recovering from a serious knee injury and has shared an update on his return to the pitch. The England international posted a series of photos of himself recovering after undergoing surgery on a cruciate knee injury.
“Video of the action on my @youtube channel at 6pm on Sunday (link in profile).”Ahead of his potentially season-ending injury, Maddison began documenting Tottenham’s behind-the-scenes activities, giving fans a unique look behind the curtain.
The 29-year-old teased his latest upload to his channel, showing footage of him in the treatment room, running on the grass, and culminating in shooting practice. Spurs interim manager Igor Tudor has provided an injury update regarding Maddison.
The Croatian hinted that the midfielder could return before the end of the season. He said, “Yeah, Madison is already doing some interesting things with the ball and sprinting. I’ve seen him. He’s positive.”
Due to the current international break, Tottenham will not continue their fight to escape relegation until they play Sunderland on April 12th. Maddison was injured during a preseason tour in South Korea and has not played in a game since May.
At the time, Thomas Frank said: “It’s disappointing for him to leave the team, but I think it’s devastating for me and mainly for the Madders. We’ll miss him and certainly he’ll miss playing football.”
Maddison will be hoping to help Tottenham in their relegation battle. Spurs have a difficult final seven games to play, with trips to the Black Cats, Aston Villa and Chelsea, and a showdown with Wolves, who sit in the bottom three.
