England 1-1 Uruguay: Thomas Tuchel named a much-changed Three Lions eleven against Wembley on Friday night as the South American nation scored a late equalizer with a penalty.
Ben White had a dramatic 20 minutes on his return to England as the Three Lions were pegged by Uruguay at Wembley.
The Arsenal defender was recalled to the Three Lions squad earlier this week and scored a goal off the bench in the closing stages.
His goal was one of the rare flashpoints at Wembley, where a disorganized England team struggled to find form.
Uruguay were given a golden chance to equalize in stoppage time after a VAR review awarded a penalty for a foul on Whyte. Federico Valverde stepped up and scored the goal, tying the game.
Here are the talking points from Wembley Stadium.

Maduke took off his clothes.
In the first half, not much happened. This was the only incident in which both sides suffered injuries.
Joaquín Piqueres suffered an ankle problem and was stretchered to the South American team.
Tuchel then voiced his concerns and Noni Madueke was sent off. Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta will be keeping a close eye on the winger and will hope he does not have any serious problems.
Rashford impresses
England supporters have not seen much of Rashford in person this season. He previously played for Barcelona in the Champions League against Newcastle.
But the on-loan Manchester United man was in great form at Wembley. He showed tenacity and skill on the left flank and became the Three Lions’ main threat against Uruguay.
Rashford will be hoping for more performances like this as he aims to earn a place in England’s World Cup squad.
Tuchelle left in a rage.
Manchester City star Phil Foden withstood a stiff challenge from Ronald Araujo in the second half, but the clash infuriated England manager Tuchel.
The Barcelona star rammed into the winger, injuring his ankle. Araujo may have felt lucky not to have been sent off, although the referee chose to appeal the VAR decision, which was not sufficient to warrant a further sanction.
England struggles for fluency
Given the unfamiliar composition of the England side, it will come as no surprise to learn that the Three Lions struggled in attack against Uruguay.
England’s front line lacked any fluency and chances were at a premium throughout the game. Leeds striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin had the best chance of the game but could only send his shot wide from just a few yards out.
White point returns with a goal
Arsenal defender Ben White was an interesting addition to the England squad earlier this week. He was called up after Jarrell Quansah was sidelined with an injury.
White last played for England at the 2022 World Cup, but he made a perfect return by coming on at the last moment and scoring a goal. He slotted home the far post from just a yard out.
As with White’s introduction, his goal was met with boos from the home supporters. It appears White still has work to do to win back fans.
Ugarte’s confusion
Uruguay were furious after White’s goal was supposed to have been a stand-off, thought to have been a foul beforehand. In the end, the strike was concluded.
But in the aftermath, Man United star Manuel Ugarte was booked for the second time in the game. But strangely, the referee chose not to brandish the red.
The official announcement is that the first yellow has actually been cancelled.
