Liverpool are set to bid farewell to Mohamed Salah at the end of the season, but plans for the regal Egyptian superstar’s replacement are already starting to take shape
Liverpool are set to bring in two new forwards to overhaul their attack this summer following the shocking news that Mohamed Salah will leave Anfield at the end of the season.
The 33-year-old Egypt international announced earlier this week that he would be leaving at the end of the 2025-26 season after nine years with the Reds. Salah remains third on the club’s all-time goalscoring list, and even if the attacker has had a disappointing season on a personal level, it would be no mean feat to replace someone of such importance.
It has now been revealed that Liverpool are likely to sign two new attackers this summer. One is a high-profile name and the other is a young talent with potential.
It claims Francisco Conceição, who is valued at £52 million, is one target who falls into the latter category, according to The i Paper. The Juventus star is expected to feature prominently for Portugal at the World Cup and is seen as a player who can replicate the direct style that made Salah such a thorn in Premier League defences.

Another player to keep an eye on is Morgan Rodgers, who had a fantastic season with Aston Villa. However, the 23-year-old will pay an astronomical transfer fee after signing a new contract earlier this season.
Bayern Munich’s Michael Olisset falls into a similar category. The former Crystal Palace man is a player that Liverpool are keenly interested in and since moving from the Premier League to the Bundesliga, the winger has taken his game to a new level.
Like Rodgers, he will likely end up paying a transfer fee in excess of £100m. Furthermore, there are “doubts” whether he would consider leaving Bayern, where he is very happy working under Vincent Kompany.
Bradley Barcola is seen as a more viable option and has many fans at Anfield, while Yann Diomande, a player also admired by Manchester United, is another attacker Liverpool are keen on.
The report adds that Codi Gakpo could follow Salah out of Anfield this summer as part of Liverpool’s attacking refresh following an underwhelming season.
The Dutchman has scored just six goals in 29 Premier League games and has struggled to make an impact on Liverpool’s games as they struggle to finish in the top four less than 12 months after winning the title in Arne Slott’s first season.
