Mo Salah has admitted that this season will be his last at Liverpool, and with the summer transfer window just a few months away, attention has already turned to who will replace him.
After nine years of winning trophies and breaking records, Liverpool’s right-hand side has changed dramatically. Mo Salah has announced that he will be leaving Anfield at the end of this season, prompting praise for his outstanding Reds career.
But Liverpool need to look to the future and consider who will replace him in the coming years. Although he hasn’t established himself as a starter these days, Salah remains a regular for Arne Slott.
His departure would be an opportunity to change the way Liverpool attack, perhaps introducing a winger with a different profile. Of course, there are several in-house options that could play in Salah’s position, including Florian Wirtz, Rio Ngmoja and Jeremy Frimpong.
However, the most likely move for Liverpool is a new contract. Mirror Football are considering five options to replace Salah.

Yann Diomand
Perhaps the least familiar name to Premier League fans on this list, Liverpool have recently been linked with a move for Diomande. The 19-year-old, who joined from Leganes last summer, has had an excellent season at RB Leipzig, scoring 11 goals and providing seven assists in 29 appearances.
Diomande is right-handed, but unlike many modern wingers, he primarily plays on the right flank. Many clubs are keeping an eye on the Ivory Coast international, and Liverpool are one of them.

michael orise
Another Bundesliga star, Olise has been active in the Premier League with Crystal Palace. The Frenchman had a strong first season at Bayern Munich, but has exploded this season.
Olise is averaging one goal or assist per game and has helped Vincent Kompany’s side become one of the favorites to win the Champions League, increasing his chances of shining for France at the World Cup. The 24-year-old former Reading star is many years removed from his prime and would cost a significant amount of money, but Liverpool should at least inquire about a potential deal.
anthony gordon
Now this is going to be controversial. Gordon, a product of Everton’s academy, had been linked with Liverpool for some time, and left Merseyside in January 2023 to sign for Newcastle.
The England international proved he can do it on the European stage as well, scoring an astonishing 10 goals in 12 Champions League games before Newcastle were eliminated by Barcelona. Primarily a left winger, Gordon can also play as a striker and interact with his teammates during matches.
If he does that, he will be able to co-star with Hugo Ekitike and Kodi Gakpo. Furthermore, the 25-year-old knows Alexander Isak and making the most of his £125m signing should be Liverpool’s priority.
Jarrod Bowen
Sticking to the Premier League theme, Bowen has long been touted as Salah’s successor. There are certainly similarities in that he is direct and threatens goal with his left foot.
West Ham are 18th in the table and in danger of being relegated, with a player of Bowen’s quality unlikely to play in the Championship. The Irons are expected to sell their captain if the team goes down, making signing the 29-year-old much easier for Liverpool and other potential suitors.
bradley barcola
Like Olise, this man could be out of reach for Liverpool both sportingly and financially. However, Barcora has not featured for Paris Saint-Germain this season and was linked with a move to Anfield in January.
The Frenchman scored in both of PSG’s Champions League games against Chelsea and will face Liverpool in the quarter-finals next month. Is it an audition?
It must be said that, like Gordon, Barcola also prefers to play on the left. But Slott, or whoever takes charge of Liverpool in the summer transfer window, might want to at least try to convince the 23-year-old to join a new and fluid attacking unit.
