Liverpool could bid farewell to up to nine players in the summer as part of a major overhaul ahead of next season. Mohamed Salah has already been confirmed to be leaving the Reds, with his impending departure to be announced on Monday night. The legendary winger, who has won almost every trophy during his time at the club, will leave after nine years at Anfield.
However, Salah is not the only player to leave the club at the end of the season. He could be joined by a number of team-mates at Liverpool, who are set to enter a transition period before the start of the 2026/27 season. Some players will be reaching the end of their contracts, while others may be looking to move on to earn more playing time or take on a new challenge.
Express Sport looks at eight Liverpool stars who could join Salah in leaving the club.
Ibrahima Konate
It would be no surprise to see Konate leave Anfield as the season draws to a close. The player’s contract runs until the summer, and he has not yet signed a new contract, making it increasingly likely that he will leave the club.
The defender has been linked with Real Madrid for some time, but it remains to be seen where he will go if he leaves Liverpool on a free transfer.
Wataru Endo
The versatile midfielder remains locked down until 2027, but given he has only made eight Premier League appearances so far this season, he may decide to move elsewhere.
With just one year left on his contract this summer, Liverpool will face the dilemma of whether to sell him or risk losing him for nothing in 12 months’ time.

The local youngster, who was linked with a move to Serie A in January, could bid farewell to his boyhood club in search of more playing time.
According to reports, Juventus and Inter Milan are interested in signing the 25-year-old if a summer move becomes available.
Joe Gomez
Gomez has been plagued by injuries in recent years, and even when he’s feeling well, he rarely starts. So it wouldn’t be a huge shock if he expressed a desire to move on at the end of the season.
However, with Konate’s contract expiring, the Reds may decide to keep him as defensive cover even if they sign another centre-back.

Chiesa has failed to win Arne Slott’s trust in his two seasons with the team and could move on to pastures new at the end of the season.
A return to his native Italy would be the most likely path for the 28-year-old. Juventus are reported to be interested in him in January, and could pursue him again once the transfer window reopens.
andy robertson
A surprise move to Tottenham in January almost came to fruition, but that fell through in the 11th hour when Liverpool decided to terminate his contract.
At the time, Robertson had six months left on his contract and could have left on a free transfer in the summer to replace Milos Kerkes as the Reds’ starting left-back.
freddie woodman
Woodman’s current contract with Liverpool is also due to expire, but the Reds have an option to extend his contract for a further 12 months.
Given the importance of English players to maintaining the number of homegrown players in their squad, there is a good chance they will decide to trigger this clause.
Rhys Williams
The forgotten defender has no future at Liverpool and has spent the last few seasons on loan to lower league and Scottish clubs and is unlikely to play for Liverpool again.
His contract expires in the summer, but given that he is clearly not needed at Anfield, it is unlikely that he will be offered an extension.
