Manchester United loser Jadon Sancho is likely to leave Old Trafford as a free agent this summer, but one of his suitors, Borussia Dortmund, has a new sporting director.
Borussia Dortmund will have a new sporting director to oversee their summer transfer business as the Bundesliga are reported to be ready to re-sign Jadon Sancho for a third time after leaving Manchester United permanently.
Sancho, 25, made a name for himself in Germany over four years with Dortmund before moving to Old Trafford in the summer of 2021 for a whopping £73 million. Unfortunately for the fleet-footed winger, he was unable to repeat his brilliant Dortmund form in a Manchester United shirt.
Despite his fall in popularity, Sancho remains on United’s books despite failing to agree a permanent transfer in the recent transfer window.
However, with Sancho’s contract expiring this summer, he is expected to leave United as a free agent at the end of the season, with Dortmund emerging as the frontrunners to sign him.

The winds of change are already blowing at Dortmund ahead of the next transfer window, with the departure of highly regarded sporting director Sebastian Kehl.
He left the German giants with immediate effect and they wasted no time in securing a replacement, with Ole Book announcing they had agreed to fill the void left by Kehl’s departure.
Such significant changes behind the scenes are likely to change plans regarding the transfer market. But Sancho may not be affected.
Dortmund manager Niko Kovac had already given the green light to re-sign the Aston Villa loanee.
The newspaper reported last week that Kovac had changed his mind about allowing Sancho to pounce after choosing not to target a new winger last summer. However, the deal will depend on Sancho taking a significant pay cut, given that his former club does not match the £300,000-a-week wages he currently earns at Manchester United.
Sancho had a falling out with Erik ten Hag before the Dutch manager’s sacking, and spent the second half of the 2023-24 season on loan back to Dortmund.
He then joined Chelsea on a compulsory season-long loan, but the two parties were unable to reach an agreement due to personal terms. Sancho is currently on loan at Aston Villa this season, but Manchester United are unlikely to extend his contract.
