Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham was stunned as he watched from the stands as his team-mates took a 3-0 lead against Manchester City in the Champions League.
Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham was left stunned as he witnessed teammate Federico Valverde score an incredible hat-trick in the Champions League against Manchester City on Wednesday night. Despite the absence of Bellingham, Kylian Mbappé, Rodrygo and Eder Militao, Madrid were in excellent form against City.
Alvaro Arbeloa’s side had a three-goal advantage within 42 minutes. Valverde gave the Spanish giants the lead after just 20 minutes, latching onto a long ball from Thibaut Courtois, and added a second seven minutes later.
As half-time approached, the midfielder completed his hat-trick with a stunning strike. Valverde latched onto Brahim Díaz’s deft looping ball inside the box, flicked it over Rubén Díaz and then Marc Guehi before firing past Gianluigi Donnarumma.

During the halftime break, TNT Sports showed Bellingham staring at a screen at the goal from the stands and being left with his mouth open.
He appeared to watch the goal twice on a screen inside the Santiago Bernabéu before bowing to his teammates.
Things almost went from bad to worse for Pep Guardiola’s side when Donnarumma brought down Vinicius Junior inside the area. However, the Italian goalkeeper rejected the Brazilian’s shot from the spot.
Bellingham missed the game with a hamstring injury and the Whites hope the England international will be able to return for next week’s second leg at the Etihad Stadium.
The 22-year-old was accompanied by Madrid staff, along with Álvaro Arbeloa, who updated Bellingham on Mbappe earlier this week, to undergo specialist injury assessment in London.
“Yes, I talk to him (Mbappe) every day. We are keeping a close eye on what is happening with him and how he is doing.
“This is a process we do every day and monitor his mood. He is getting better day by day. All these decisions are being supervised by the club’s doctors.”

“Mbappé is in Paris with Real Madrid employees and Bellingham is in London with Real Madrid professionals. Everything, absolutely everything is supervised.”
Given their impressive first-leg advantage against the Bernabéu, Real Madrid may not need to rush Bellingham into the second leg.
