Tottenham have not won since December, have done little to turn their fortunes around since Igor Tudor arrived and are just one point above the bottom three.
Tim Sherwood has claimed that Igor Tudor “looks lost” as Tottenham manager as Premier League reality sets in and has started making excuses for his team’s poor performance despite firmly avoiding relegation.
The North Londoners have not picked up a point since the Croatian replaced Thomas Frank in the squad in a free fall. They lost all three games he coached, and there were few positives to hold on to.
Tudor had never coached in England before moving to Tottenham at the end of the season, but was adamant the club would remain in the top flight despite falling down the table after taking over. Sherwood plays and manages Tottenham and believes Tudor already looks stunned by the challenges facing them in the Premier League.
The former player told Sky Sports: “I think he was hit squarely in the face by the Premier League competition. It’s not easy. It’s a tough competition. He looks lost on the touchline sometimes. He doesn’t know anything about it.”
Tottenham have lost to Arsenal, Fulham and Crystal Palace since the change of manager. In last week’s loss to the Eagles, thousands of fans left by halftime in what appeared to be a peak of disillusionment and frustration.

Tudor is without a number of key players, such as James Madison and Dejan Kulusevski, and has already cited a number of issues he inherited. These include a lack of available players, low fitness levels and shortcomings in all areas of the pitch.
Tottenham are currently the worst-performing team in the top flight. They are without a win in the league in 2026, with seven losses and four draws in 11 games. As a result, they now sit just one point above the bottom three, and Sherwood noticed that Tudor appeared to have changed their attitude.
“He went from saying ‘I’m 100 per cent guaranteed to spend next season in the Premier League’ to saying ‘the players aren’t fit enough, we’re not good in attack, we’re not good in the middle, we’re not good at the back and we need to get the injured players back to fitness’,” Sherwood claimed.
“You have to make do with what you have. Forget all that nonsense. Concentrate on the players who are fit at the moment and try to cheer them up. If you hit them with a stick, (the new manager) can’t bounce back. It’s different if there are downsides like being relegated.”
“We have to embrace them. We have to find the best solution. We have to give them a simple solution on how we play. This is how we play.”
