Tottenham interim manager Igor Tudor is already under pressure, but one club legend is making plans for who will replace him.
Glenn Hoddle has admitted he would be open to a return to Tottenham, with the club legend hinting he would like Robbie Keane to join him in the dugout. Spurs recently appointed Igor Tudor as their interim head coach, but after losing his first three games, there are growing fears of relegation and there are already calls for his sacking.
Following the latest results, only one point separates North Londoners, West Ham United and Nottingham Forest. The latter drew with Manchester City on Wednesday, while the Hammers won away at Fulham and Spurs finished their midweek fixtures with a loss to Crystal Palace.
After losing five straight league games and with nine games remaining, Spurs need to change something and that could lead to further changes in the dugout. The players have been in poor form all season, but Tudor is not blameless and there is already speculation that his job could be in jeopardy.

At this point in the season, it would be a risky move for the Spurs to pull the trigger and replace him. Club legend and former Spurs manager Hoddle has named himself and Keane as candidates, but such a scenario seems unlikely.
When asked on the ‘Maybe Magic FA Cup’ podcast if he would return to Spurs, he said: “Actually, I think so, especially with Tottenham, because they’re my club. I’ve been supporting them since I was eight years old, so they’ve been a big part of my life.”

As for Keane, he added: “Robbie is doing a great job as a young manager, so having a stable springboard and someone with experience like me is going to be a good equation in many ways. I think it’s a smart move to bring in someone, whether it’s me or someone who has experience with him.”
The former Republic of Ireland international is currently the head coach of Ferencvaros in Hungary, where he has been since January 2025.
Shortly after the departure of Thomas Frank, he was floated as a candidate for interim head coach of the Spurs. Asked about his links with his former club, the 45-year-old said: “I can’t help but speculate.”
Reports have since surfaced that Keene intends to take on the job permanently, rather than just joining the company for a few months. Tudor, on the other hand, was a likely candidate to serve only on an interim basis, given his past success in a short period of time.
However, he has found things very difficult so far and seems already exhausted by the role. The 47-year-old was asked after the defeat to Palace if it was impossible for him to run the club.
The player said, “I don’t want to talk about the club. I want to be positive. After this game, I can’t say anything to the players.”
“They gave everything. Unfortunately, we pay for the details. We pay for the details. If you can say that a red card is a detail, there is always something to be said.
“All the problems we have now, the absence of defenders today, the absence of full-backs, these are problems that we already know. I don’t want to talk about it, but we need to come together now.”
Following Thursday night’s defeat, Spurs remain in 16th place, just one point from the Premier League drop zone.
