She was treated for her injuries and admitted to the hospital with her famous husband after the accident
Former Premier League footballer Nelson Semedo’s wife was taken to hospital after being involved in a car accident in Türkiye. Marlene Alvarenga is said to have been on her way to pick up her children from school when the incident occurred.
Former Wolves and Barcelona right-back Semedo left Molineux last summer after five years at the club. He signed with Fenerbahce on a free transfer and signed a two-year contract.
According to Portuguese media outlet O Jogo, Alvarenga was not driving at the time of the accident on the Northern Marmara Highway in northern Istanbul. According to reports, the unnamed driver lost control and the vehicle overturned.
Semedo, 32, heard the news of the collision and rushed to his wife in the hospital. She is understood to have only sustained minor injuries.

In a statement, the club said: “We are saddened to learn of the traffic accident involving Marlene Semedo, the wife of footballer Nelson Semedo, and we wish her and her family the best of luck.” The football player and his wife have a daughter and a son.
Semedo is currently sidelined due to an injury sustained during his time with Fenerbahce. The club confirmed that he had injured his medial ligament after the recent match against Antalyaspor.
The Portuguese international was sent off just 20 minutes into the match, ending the match for good. Domenico Tedesco’s side remain unbeaten after 24 league games, but are in second place, four points behind Galatasaray.
He also featured regularly for clubs in Europe, with Fennell losing to Benfica in the Champions League play-offs before reaching the knock-out play-offs in the Europa League, where they lost 4–2 on aggregate to Nottingham Forest.
Semedo played for Barcelona before spending five years at Wolves, but was brought to Turkey by then manager Jose Mourinho during the summer. However, Mourinho was sacked in August following their defeat in the Champions League, and Tedesco was appointed as manager.
Fenerbahce have announced that their coach, Tedesco, will miss this week’s cup match against Gaziantep. A statement from the club said the German manager was “being treated for a serious infection”.
A victory over Gaziantep will ensure Fenerbahce will advance to the quarter-finals of the cup. After three group stage games, both teams are tied on points, with Gaziantep leading in points, but the top two teams in third place will also advance.
