Edu and Nottingham Forest are likely to part ways within a year after the club appointed the former Arsenal sporting director as head of world football.
Nottingham Forest look set to part ways with their world football boss Edu after telling Arsenal’s former sporting director to stay away from the club’s training ground.
Edu has only been in charge for eight months, but it has been an eventful season for Forest both on and off the pitch. At least four managers have been involved, with the popular Nuno Espirito Santo falling out with Edu just weeks after the Brazilian arrived at The City Ground and eventually being sacked as head coach.
Ange Postecoglou and Sean Dyche then had short and dominant terms, with the latter being fired last month after 114 days in office.
Vitor Pereira is the man tasked with guiding the Midlands club, who remain outside the relegation zone on goal difference with nine games in hand, into the safety of the Premier League with Forest’s heavyweights.

The Telegraph reports that Edu’s position is currently under serious threat, despite the club stressing that he is continuing to work as usual. The report said his departure from Forest was “expected to occur before the end of the season” and that he had been told to stay away from the club’s training ground.
Edu is also said to have been asked to stay away from matches, with Wednesday night’s 2-2 draw with Manchester City missing his third consecutive game.
His capture by Forest was largely seen as a coup, given the praise he earned during his time at Arsenal, during which he re-established themselves as title contenders under manager Mikel Arteta.
In explaining his departure, he cited the need for a “new challenge” and announced he would leave the Gunners in November 2024. The following summer he linked up with Forest.
Edu’s duties included recruitment, team strategy and player development after Forest created his role. The club spent around £200 million over the summer, but reinforcements have been under scrutiny after the team’s poor form, with a number of players failing to live up to expectations.
