Sky Sports News presenter Vicky Gomersall had to react quickly after an unexpected moment arose during her post-match coverage of the 1-1 draw between Bournemouth and Sunderland.
Sky Sports News presenter Vicky Gomersall was left stunned after a man showed his backside during a live interview. Mr Gomersall, 54, and former Premier League striker Jay Bothroyd were speaking to a Sunderland fan named Tuff after the Black Cats’ 1-1 draw with Bournemouth on Saturday.
However, the interview ended in failure because someone behind Tuff’s shoulder acted unexpectedly. The man in question was wearing black clothing and bent down to pull down his pants in full view of the camera.
Mr. Gomersall quickly intervened and was forced to apologize as the interview ended abruptly. “Why don’t you step away from the screen for a moment?” she said.
“We don’t have to see anything like that. I can just apologize… Tough, we don’t want to do anything like that, so we’re going to leave you there.”

“If I could apologize to anyone who was watching at home and may have been offended, I certainly was. I’m sorry, but unfortunately when you play live, you’re going to see some idiots like that.”
Gomersall was not impressed, but fans on social media loved the raunchy moment. “Games are back,” one user commented on TikTok.
Another joked: “It’s his cheek.” A third said it was “the best thing to happen to Sky Sports in years”. Bossroyd, 43, also thought it was funny.
The former England international couldn’t help but smile. “Jay is really trying to persevere,” said one fan. Another posted: “He definitely wants to laugh his head off.”

Bothroyd and Gomersall were reacting after Bournemouth came from behind to earn a point at home to Sunderland. Eliezer Mayenda scored the visitors’ first goal in the 18th minute.
Evanilsson responded just after the hour mark, and the teams were forced to settle for a draw. “I don’t think it was a great point for us,” Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola told TNT Sport.
“I think playing at home was probably the closest we got to getting the three points, but I don’t think we deserved the three points because we had to pay for the slow start. We started really slow and that’s been happening to us lately.”
Meanwhile, Sunderland manager Regis Le Bris commented: “This is a good point because it’s a tough place. They have a clear identity, intensity and dueling orientation, so it’s difficult.”
