Liverpool host West Ham at Anfield as they aim for third straight Premier League win
Liverpool will aim to continue their recent momentum in this weekend’s Premier League. Arne Slott’s side welcome West Ham United to Anfield for Saturday’s match from 3pm.
The fixture comes six days after their most recent game, a dramatic 1-0 win away to Nottingham Forest. Alexis Mac Allister scored again in the 97th minute to secure a crucial three points for the Reds after a late winner was disallowed for handball.
Liverpool will face another team fighting to maintain their top-flight status at the end of the season. The Hammers arrived at Anfield occupying 18th place in the table, but only two points off safety.

With the games being played in quick succession, both teams will inevitably face fitness concerns ahead of their Premier League clash. With that in mind, here’s an overview of the latest injury developments from both sides ahead of the game.

Slott have revealed that summer signing Florian Wertz will miss the game against the Hammers after complaining of back pain during the warm-up against Nottingham Forest last week. Speaking at the pre-match press conference, he said: “Obviously I’m disappointed because I didn’t expect Florian to be available.
“It’s disappointing every time a player is out and it’s something we didn’t expect after last week. But sometimes things evolve and unfortunately this time it wasn’t for the better.”

When asked about a possible return date, Slott continued: “No, at this point, no, and usually when I say I know it, I don’t want to share it! But right now I honestly don’t know.”
Wirtz joins a growing list of injured players alongside long-term injured Alexander Isak (ankle), Wataru Endo (foot), Giovanni Leoni (knee), Connor Bradley (knee) and Stefan Bicetic (hamstring). Young prospect Jayden Duns is also likely to miss out as he continues to rehabilitate from previous fitness concerns.
In a further positive move for Liverpool, it has been confirmed that full-back Jeremy Frimpong could feature against West Ham. The 25-year-old has missed the last five matches across all competitions due to a hamstring problem.

The Hammers’ injury outlook has improved significantly, with manager Nuno Espirito Santo expecting two players to be ruled out through injury and only one suspended. Forward Pablo Felipe, who joined the club in January, is unlikely to feature.
At the pre-match press conference, Nuno revealed: “He (Pablo) hasn’t joined us yet. He’s starting an individual program and he’s improving day by day. We’ll continue to evaluate him and see when he can come back. We hope he’s back soon, because we’ll miss him.”

Goalkeeper Łukasz Fabianski, who has missed most of the season with a back injury, is expected to remain sidelined. Midfielder Freddie Potts will also be absent as he serves the second game of a three-match ban after being sent off in the FA Cup game against Burton Albion.
Furthermore, Nuno hinted that further problems could arise within the team, but did not provide further details. “There’s always something to evaluate,” he said.
“I have another training session tomorrow (Friday) and then I will be traveling.”
