‘Big gap’ – Tudor says Spurs need to change mentality

Igor Tudor has said he has not mentioned the possibility of relegation for Tottenham Hotspur players.
But when asked if he had ever talked to his team about relegation, the interim head coach said: “No, I haven’t, but not because I’m too scared or it’s a dangerous word or I’m losing sleep over it.”
“It means we need to focus on ourselves again. I’m saying the same thing to the players: focus on ourselves and training. That’s the only thing we can change.”
“So there’s nothing to think about, not about the future or points. Points are what you get as a result of training and matches.”
“That’s the focus. That’s the main and only focus we need to have.”

‘We showed what we’re made of’ – Arteta says Arsenal stood up to Spurs

Tottenham have two important London derbies next week, away to Fulham on Sunday and at home to Crystal Palace next Thursday.
The club continues to be plagued by injuries, which Tudor said is a big factor in their current struggles.
“The problem is we don’t have enough people on the team,” Tudor said. “There’s a problem. If you have to play 10, 12, 13 every three days. And if every game in the league is a final, you’re expending not only physical energy but also mental energy. It’s not an ideal situation.”
However, Tudor was able to provide a positive injury update ahead of this weekend’s team meeting with Fulham at Craven Cottage.
Kevin Danso and Pedro Polo are available, while Micky van de Ven has a “minor problem” with his finger but is “okay”.
On last weekend’s unforgettable derby day, when the division between his team and Arsenal was so clear, Tudor clearly wants to move on quickly.
“The less we talk, the better,” Tudor added. “It’s about focusing on your daily work in training to move up the rankings.”
