Fabio Capello and Ronaldo reunited on Tuesday ahead of Inter Milan’s Champions League match against Bodo/Glimt, but the Italian could not resist a violent assault on his former player
Former England manager Fabio Capello has slammed Brazil icon Ronaldo’s weight after reuniting with his former forward. The two briefly worked together at Spanish giants Real Madrid.
Ronaldo played 13 games under Capello and scored four goals. The pair, who have worked together in the past, reunited on Tuesday night ahead of Inter Milan’s Champions League clash with Norway’s Bodo/Glimt.
And when he reunited with his former player via video chat, Capello brutally asked, “How much do you weigh now?”
At the time, the now 49-year-old replied with a laugh: “Is your weight still the same? I can’t do it anymore!”
Capello was happy to tease his former player, but was still very complimentary. He claimed that Ronaldo is “the most talented player I’ve ever worked with, but he leaves a lot to be desired when it comes to his lifestyle.”

These comments come after similar claims made by the Italian tactician last year. “Ronaldo was the best player I ever coached, but he loved to party every night and was wild.
“He weighed about 207 pounds and wasn’t trying to lose weight. At one point, I told the president we had to let him go.
“There was no way forward. So we did it. But I’ll say it again: He was the best I’ve ever coached.”

Ronaldo’s party antics were a regular source of irritation for Capello, but there’s no getting away from the fact that he was an extremely talented goalscorer. He played 177 games for the Spanish team and scored 104 goals.
He also scored goals for PSV Eindhoven, Barcelona, Inter Milan and AC Milan. Ronaldo struggled with knee injuries throughout his professional career, but ended his career with Corinthians in Brazil in 2011.
Ronaldo also enjoyed a brilliant career with the Brazilian national team. He won 99 caps for the Selecao, scored in 62 games for his country, and helped his country win two World Cups. His performances also helped him win two Ballon d’Ors.
As for Capello, he managed AC Milan, Real Madrid, Roma and Juventus. The seven-time Serie A champion was appointed to the England national team in 2007. The Italian went on to manage Russia and Jiangsu Suning, with his most recent employer being the Chinese side.
