Ruben Loftus-Cheek was involved in a nasty collision during AC Milan’s match against Parma, with the former Chelsea star having to be carried away on a stretcher in a head brace.
AC Milan’s Ruben Loftus-Cheek was stretchered away with serious head injuries after colliding with Parma goalkeeper Edoardo Corvi.
The former Chelsea star was only involved minutes before the incident, with the pair coming together for a cross. Blood was visible on his face, and DAZN reported that his worst injury was to his teeth.
The British man was taken to a local hospital for tests but did not lose consciousness despite the footage. Loftus-Cheek has been plying his trade in Italy since 2023 after playing for several London clubs including Fulham and Crystal Palace.
The 30-year-old remains a regular at the San Siro but is currently set to be sidelined for a period of time, although his schedule and diagnosis following his injury have not yet been announced. Milan will be looking at costs on Sunday after Matteo Gabbia was absent in the warm-up before being lost in the closing stages.
AC Milan sit second in Serie A and have not lost a league game since the opening weekend of the season, although they are slightly behind the leaders and city rivals Inter Milan.

Despite playing in Italy, Loftus-Cheek remains on England’s radar, leading to a shock recall earlier this season. He spent nearly seven years out of the national team, but was bought back and returned to the team when Thomas Tuchel needed injury cover.
He had not played for the Three Lions since a friendly against the United States in November 2018. The midfielder then ruptured his Achilles tendon in a friendly before the Europa League final while playing for Chelsea in 2019, and was subsequently absent from the England squad.
Loftus-Cheek confessed in September: “When I ruptured my Achilles, I was on a very high[before it happened]so it was mentally tough afterwards. But I was still young and had time to come back, so I wasn’t too depressed.”
He added: “One would still want to promote club football with the hope that they might get sniffed at. But I completely forgot about that and became a fan of the team instead.”
