In a dramatic turn of events in Serie A, Cesc Fabregas clashed with AC Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri during and after Como’s 1-1 draw at San Siro on Wednesday.
Furious AC Milan manager Massimiliano Allegri was heard calling Cesc Fabregas a “stupid” and “child” during a heated post-match argument. The flashpoint came after Fabregas’ Como drew 1-1 with Milan at San Siro.
Como took the lead in the 32nd minute through a Nico pass and Rafael Leao equalized in the second half. With just 10 minutes of regular time left, the visitors looked to counterattack after Milan’s Alexis Saelemakers released the ball on the touchline.
Fabregas, who was not in the technical area, shockingly pulled back the Milan forward as he tried to recover. Saelemaekers quickly turned around and reprimanded the former Arsenal star, but Como were unable to capitalize on the goal.
Enraged by Fabregas’ behavior, Allegri stormed out of the dugout and berated him violently. Both coaching staffs clashed in a scuffle, but Allegri was ultimately sent off, with Fabregas spared.

It was revealed that after full-time, the two managers clashed again at the entrance to the press room. Many Italian journalists heard Allegri telling Fabregas: “You’re a kid… an idiot! You’re a kid who became a coach yesterday!”
In a subsequent press conference, the furious Milan manager said: “In that case, the next time I see someone walking past me, I’m going to go into a sliding tackle.”
Meanwhile, Fabregas apologized. The former Chelsea ace said: “I’m sorry. It was just a small thing and Coach Allegri’s reaction was exaggerated. But I admit I shouldn’t have done it.”

“As (Inter Milan manager) Cristian Chivu said the other day, this was unsporting behavior. Especially as a coach, you have to stay out of it. I would have been angry too, so all I can say is that I apologize and hope that it never happens again in my career.”
The result left Milan trailing rivals Inter by seven points with 13 games left, severely damaging their chances of winning the title. As for Como, this draw has moved them ahead of Atalanta into sixth place, putting them on track to qualify for next season’s Conference League.
Como will be Fabregas’ first managerial position after he was promoted to Serie A in 2024. Previously, two-time Premier League winner Fabregas was in charge of the Italian club on an interim basis.
