Piers Morgan was furious after watching Arsenal take a two-goal lead against Wolves, with broadcasters fearing another collapse at the top of the Premier League
Piers Morgan could not hide his anger and frustration, accusing Arsenal of “suffocating” Arsenal after they gave up a two-goal lead to bottom-place Wolves.
The Gunners looked to be in cruise control at Molineux on Wednesday night when they led 2-0 at the break. However, Wolves pulled one back before equalizing in the 94th minute, and Arsenal’s title hopes largely disappeared in the process.
This means Mikel Arteta’s side continue to draw in the Premier League, closing the gap at the top of the table. Manchester City have a game against the Gunners coming up later this year, and if they win, they could move within two points.
Arsenal have been underperforming in recent years, finishing second in each of the past three seasons. Although he came out on top on two of those occasions, he ultimately relinquished the advantage, leading some to question whether he had the mentality to cross the line.
And Morgan is concerned that this gaffe could lead to a repeat. He said, “I’m suffocated. Again.” It happened after he saw the warning signs and also posted: “FFS. What are you doing, Arsenal?”

Morgan was not the only member of the Gunners faithful to be unhappy with the collapse. One fan said: “One thing you can say about Arsenal? We prove the haters right every time.” the second one lamented. “If we’re not good enough, we’re not good enough and we just have to deal with that and life sucks.
Arteta admitted Arsenal, who will be competing for all four trophies this season, only had themselves to blame for missing out on two points. He said: “Obviously we are very disappointed with the result and the way the game ended, but we have to blame ourselves.

“I don’t think our performance in the second half, especially in the way we played in the first half, showed anything close to the standard that is required to win in this league. I think there was a margin that should have existed today, especially in the way we played in the first half. It’s a disappointing moment.”
“We all want to talk a lot about how we feel, but now is not the time to do it, because everything we do must always be done with the sole intention of helping the team. I think now we have to swallow that frustration. When you are at this level and at the top, you have to take a hit. We deserved it too today, so we need to move on as soon as possible, because we have a big game coming up on Sunday.”
The Gunners’ next assignment will be a trip across north London to take on rivals Tottenham, who are themselves struggling under new manager Igor Tudor.
