Arsenal captain Bukayo Saka admitted the Gunners dressing room was deserted after dropping a late point against Wolves, but his interview raised concerns about Glenn Hoddle
Glenn Hoddle has questioned the attitude of Arsenal captain Bukayo Saka and his team-mates after he admitted they were “calm” after the club’s disappointing 2-2 away draw with struggling Wolves.
Saka and his team scored two goals and looked to be heading for victory against a club bottom of the Premier League at Molineux. But second-half stoppage time goals from Ugo Bueno and Tom Edsi stunned the Gunners and opened the door for Manchester City to close the gap on their title rivals at the weekend.
Arsenal went into the match as overwhelming favorites and Saka admitted in the post-match interview that the result was unacceptable.
“(The dressing room) is very flat,” the Arsenal captain told Sky Sports. “We are very disappointed with the result, especially the way we played in the second half, and we are far from the level we set this season.

“It’s time to look back at the few performances we had and quickly fix the issues and win games and get back on track and build some momentum, because we’ve lost a little bit of that right now.”
But while Hoddle noted Saka’s honesty, the former Tottenham and England manager was concerned by how depressed the Arsenal captain was. “It’s interesting because he was our captain tonight,” Hoddle told Premier League Productions.
“For me, he was very honest and very honest that we need to do better locally… blah blah blah. But his attitude towards me was not right.
“Your attitude needs to be a little bit better. He was very flat, very flat.”
Hoddle went on to question Arsenal’s confidence after dropping points in back-to-back games, adding: “When you look at Arsenal against Brentford and against Wolves, you feel like they’re starting to doubt themselves. A few months ago they weren’t doing that. They were saying with authority, ‘We’re Arsenal, we’re going to win the title’.”
“But they doubted themselves, they are under pressure now, it is all a mental issue and we need to be strong and come together to come back.
“This is not a crossroads for Arsenal, but they need to start again and move forward again. They have to move on again, but there are doubts in their minds now. There are definitely doubts and they have a huge number of games ahead of them.
“If they don’t get a result at the weekend, they’re going to be in trouble.”
