Liverpool are said to be interested in RB Leipzig star Yann Diomande but could face competition from the likes of Bayern Munich as they consider a summer move.
Bayern Munich have been told to avoid signing Liverpool target Yann Diomande ahead of a race for the winger’s signature. The 19-year-old Ivorian had a brilliant debut season with RB Leipzig this term.
Since joining from Leganes, he has made 24 appearances in all competitions, scoring nine goals and providing six assists. And a number of clubs, including Liverpool and Bayern Munich, are attracting attention.
However, legendary former midfielder Lothar Matthäus is not convinced and does not think Bayern should make the move. “Leipzig are said to be open to negotiations for Diomande only if an offer of 100 million euros is received,” he told Bild.
“It’s too expensive for a player who can’t get past Dias right now. Bayern could save that money.”
Instead, he proposed an alternative to the reigning German giant. Matthäus added: “I heard that Bayern are interested in Bazmana Toure from Hoffenheim. Such a deal makes sense for me. Toure showed he has potential at TSG. He has developed behind (Luis) Diaz and could develop for the future.”

Diomande has also been linked with a move away from Bayern and Liverpool, and is said to have ambitions of playing at Anfield one day.
In recent remarks, he clarified his previous comments about the Reds. He said: “People thought it was my dream club, but first and foremost it’s my father’s favorite club.”
“He loves the atmosphere at Anfield so it was his big wish to see me play there one day. He always raved about Steven Gerrard.

“I was too young to watch him play. For a long time we didn’t even have a TV at home. I respect Liverpool a lot, but my dream club now is Leipzig.”
Diomande also admitted that he had spoken to former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, a German player currently at Red Bull, but had not discussed a future move to Liverpool.
He added: “No, not really. But we talk sometimes. He tells me to stay humble and keep working hard. It was my dream to play for one of his teams.”
“Nowadays that’s just not possible. But to be so close now, to talk and shake hands, it’s incredible. He’s a legend. Sometimes I feel like I’m in a movie.”
